I am in no way connected to this auction. I would be all over it but have no funds...

It's two Busse's for $300 bucks!

A MS and Presentation NARK:eek:

Here's the auction # 5676541058

As the self elected mayor, I declare my position a public service, thereby free of charge and up for grabs by anyone who chooses to take it from me.

Hope someone snags these up quick! It hurts to let them pass, but I'm still looking for a house... Anyone want to make me a good deal on a place in VA Beach???

Thank God! In the time it took me to pour cup of cofee, someone from here snagged it. I had talked myself into charging it. That was a buy one get one free kind of deal!

If any of you Uber Hogs are ruffled about me posting the refrence, Calmly walk away, look at your knife collection and consider those less fortunate than yourselves. It will be Okay.

That was a very easy choice.

Now, as any good politician would, I have decided to add contingencies upon my appointment.

I ask two things.

First, if you are fortunate enough to take advantage of an offering posted by the Mayor, and for some reason you are not already a Gold member of this site, I ask that you take some of the funds you are fortunate enough to have and upgrade your membership.

Second, I humbly ask for first pass on any such offerings that you may choose to part with in the future. i.e. that MS!!!

Hmmm.... you snooze, you lose. Wish I'd gotten my sleepy butt out of bed a little earlier. :D

Nice grab.

Thanks Mayor, you've really shown sympathy and respect to your fellow BroHogs who are contributing paying members to our forum. Thanks Brother! :barf:

Email sent to Spark.

looked like a sweet deal and they shipped to CANADA
i shall never sleep again!.. lol oh well

auction spotting = bad ju ju. :(

it would have gone in seconds even if you had titled it "2 old ruined knives" :foot:

I'm guessing that, from winmagfrog's perspective, it doesn't have to do with disrespecting the fellow members here. In that regard, he was trying to help out his fellow members by passing along a good deal. Note that he has a Gold Membership just like most folks in this thread.

It does, however, have to do with respecting Spark's site and his rules. Auction spotting and deal spotting are not allowed. I understand Spark's reasons. Folks pay good money to be able to sell knives here, and I doubt the dealer in that auction is a Gold Member here. From that perspective, dealers and people who sell a lot of knives might be put off.

I don't sell many knives here. I pay mainly just to support the site. So I don't get quite as worked up about auction spotting as Bravado. Obviously, it's one of his pet peeves. The bottom line? It can get you banned from the boards.

With that said, one must concede that enforcement varies from board to board. I see deals on Buck knives posted over on that board all the time.

I think that WinMagHog's post was definitely in the spirit of HOGdom!!! . . . He made the selfless sacrifice to ensure that a fellow HOG hit that auction before anyone else could nail it! And what a flugin' deal it was too:eek:  !!!!!

As for Bravado's angry response. . .I think that it's just a little misplaced anger over the fact that he can't find the other San Diego tag that is right under his snout!!!!! ;)

Let us never forget the battle cry of the INFI HOG. . . .

NO REGRETS!!!! :D

Huh?????;)

ValleyTin,

Awesome snag on the two E-Bay knives. I also noticed that you recently scored a couple knives from the "For Sale" section of BF . Congrats.

I have one question to all about "Auction Spotting" If it is not allowed for reasons of people posting knives for sale on this site, Why can't people selling their Infi on the "For Sale" forum on this site give us a heads up in the "Busse" Forum.

I have seen about a half dozen Busse knives sold on this site in the short time that I've been here. It seems almost immpossible to score one unless your checking 24/7. What is wrong with giving some advanced notice on this forum if you list in the For Sale forum????????????????:thumbdn:

spam. or unintended spam. for the most part in order to maintain some sense of order on a forum as big as this, dealing with specific material goods and products its almost a requirement to keep any sales going on within the site contained within a specific place, as well as certain subject matter.

if you had the ability to reference sale threads going in the sale forum anywhere and any time in bladeforums, the possibility of the person doing the sale itself putting ads on every forum is there. also any freinds of his doing the same thing. so you end up with 10 threads at all times advertising sale threads on every forum.

the same does go for ebay auctions in those given scenarios, wich is one of the reasons its generally asked that links not be placed. of course, this is all circumstantial, and should you point in the direction of a thread rather then place a link, and that thread be in good context (like this one, just an unbeliable deal for whoever is looking for one (and the person posting isnt the seller)) it can be in good taste.

but with most things, its good to keep it in moderation, or even to a minimum.

Thanks for taking the time to explain the reasoning behind that rule. I understand now. Well maybe the Hogs that are unloading a Busse in the "For Sale" section of this site should give a little "Wink and a Nod" heads-up message that only the Swine on this forum would understand. ;) Code word-Suuuuuuuuuuuuuuuueeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Keep'em Sharp,
RJD
