Call me the Ebay Mayor! Check it out!

i am not sure what the issue is here..... if i saw a deal on ebay that i was in no position to get i would certqainly post it to the folks i know that value busse for what busse is......

i am a gold member, simply because i want to support this site, i have no interest in selling a knife on these forums.... i buy to keep.

bravado... why is it disloyal to post on the busse forum an auction for a busse knife? everyone involved is a gold member at least? just curious?

Seth- thanks for the explanation, makes sense. I have asked about this before, and without digging it up, the response was that it was not specificly mentioned in the rules. I just spent the last couple of minutes looking for the rules, and couldn't find them.

Bravado- I'm not trying to ruffle your feathers bro. You've hooked me up in the past and I certainly don't want any bad blood between us. I was just trying to put INFI in the hands of someone who spent time looking for it. If any of the mods have a problem with it, I'm sure I'll hear about it.

Boss Hog got the gist of my intentions, and that's about all a piglet can ask for.

Again, no harm intended. Maybe in the future I'll just PM folks who are looking for a deal on the WTB section and everyone wins.

No rules, No regrets- Right?

These aren't Bravado's rules. They're Spark's, and he is the owner/operator of this board. Keep in mind that this site is privately owned and run. If you have issues, take them up with Spark. In part, it's about the bandwidth. But it's also about protecting the interests of the dealers and sellers who pay for their place here.

Personally, I often like it when folks spot auctions because I can't watch eBay or the For Sale boards 24/7. But I also know it's against the rules (having been reprimanded myself once for posting about a good deal on Spydercos). So you won't catch me posting deals.

That said, if I'd gotten up a little earlier, I would be thanking winmagfrog from the bottom of my heart. :D

Well kids, here's the deal.

All sale/auction/deal references posted in the Busse forums are going to be be moved to the GB&U. This is where they should be posted.

This issue has been discussed numerous times, and it is held (by BladeForums management) that this is a fair way to deal with references/links/etc. It also provides the place to address issues, pro or con, with the person offering or item(s) offered in the deal(s).

So please, no more postings here referencing deals on other sites.

Hope this helps.

Mike

Next time, just send the notifications to me so I can get the good deals.

I think that pointing out NON-knife auctions are okay, as long they aren't at all knife related.

Also, I AM SO JEALOUS OF THE WINNER@!@!@!
Oh well, I'll go console myself by playing with a certain recent snag of mine. ;)

That's CRAP!!!!!

I sell pig statutes and as a Gold member planned on selling here. Now you have ruined it for me.................................................................:p

I respectfully disagree with your disdain for eBay. Some of the best deals I have made on buying Busse knives have been on eBay, including a pristine Birds Beak SHII for less than $500. I have only had one purchase on eBay that I was less than satisfied with, and I blame myself for not asking more questions on that deal. I have also had some good deals here and on other knife forums; in all cases, including eBay, the good deals were a matter of being in the right place at the right time. Why do you dislike eBay?

I also feel your post to winmagfrog (wmf) was out of line. I would agree with you if wmf was undercutting BF members who currently had the same knives for sale here, but that was not the case. As you know availability of Busse knives is not plentiful, even those in the current line like the Meaner Street, and when is the last time a Presentation NARK has been for sale? I saw wmf's post about the eBay auction as nothing more than trying to help a fellow BF member get a good deal on some hard to find knives.

I check E-Bay all the time and there are hardly ever any Busse knives on there. There are hardly any on this site. I have been looking to buy a Natural Outlaw for quite awhile and can't seem to find anyone that has one for sale.

So I don't think that anyone should make a big deal over E-Bay or other place a knife collector can score a good deal on some Busse steel.

Keep'em Sharp,
RJD

Way to go WinMag! You may be UGLY today, but you done GOOD, and that's just plain BADa$$!
Support.

Hey guys, let's put it to bed.

This is where the site owners would like references posted, and that is more than fair.

As to Bravado coming off a little gruff, no big deal at all. He's been on this site for a lot longer than me and has probably seen this happen before. I can understand how it would get old having to revisit the same issue. I have no bad blood with him. In fact, I enjoy his posts and have gotten more than one peice of INFI from him through incredible deals. When he sells INFI, he doesn't do a crazy mark-up like most, so his moral fiber is evident in that respect for certain.

I'll maintain my self apointed position as Ebay mayor for as long as I can uphold the rigors of such duty. If I see a good deal, I may just post a little heads up here, or PM certain members who have expressed an interest in said items. No harm done and hopefully someone will get a good deal.

Would you recommend a bad restaurant to your friends and family?

Why was my post to him out of line? Did I slander his name or his business in some way? Maybe not this time but maybe next time somone even you if you were a paying member and wanted to sell here may have the same knife for sale here on BladeForums, would that be okay with you for me to post the same ebay knife here on BladeForums? Besides I think the rules of the forums have already been addressed so this is pointless. :thumbdn:

I felt your post to winmagfrog was out of line due to the tone of your post - rather than kindly informing him about the rule of auction spotting (of which I was also unaware), you used sarcasm and the barf icon to essentially say he was being disrespectful of his fellow Busse collectors. Also, he mentioned an auction that contained a Meaner Street, which is not the same knife as the Mean Street you currently have for sale; I have both and both are nice knives, but they are not the same. I was admiring your Mean Street for sale, and will say for anyone considering buying one, they are nice small knives that are easy to carry and yet are still very strong, and you are asking a fair price for yours.

I still disagree with your dislike for eBay, but that is certainly your right. The Birds Beak SHII I bought there is one of the cleanest Busses I have ever found (there is not a mark on it), and it was a good deal too at $471. One less hog at the eBay Busse trough is OK with me. ;) :D Take care!

Gene

Okay,
I know I am still a newbie to this forum. But for cryin out loud why is it so flippin hard for me to find a Busse N.O. for sale!!!!!!!

Someone must need some cash to unlock their death grip on an N.O.!!!!! Plus I still haven't been able to find a Busse T-Shirt Anywhere!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If anyone sees a N.O (Anywhere) please E-mail me. Additionally, Bravado, I had to kickstart my heart after seeing your phantom folder for sale. You must be a sadist. Why would you do that to me. I am dying for that knife to come available and yet you jest.:D

Take care everyone and keep'em sharp,
RJD

Let me make things very clear regarding auction spotting; it is NOT allowed.

We do not allow ebay links here at Bladeforums, unless the link specifically reates to a non commercial discussion.

If you spot some awesome deals on ebay, or other commercial sites, you better have an email list of people that you can notify.

This rule does not apply to links for our paid Dealer members.
