Lots of new guys have been posting here in the Becker forum.
Heck, a bunch have been making the Becker forum the site of their very first BFC post.

I just want to encourage those of you with Becker knives to meet the membership requirements and get a Beckerhead number.
It will entitle you to all sorts of bonuses (access to certain contests, discounted vendor offerings on occasion, possible access to a forum knife, patches, etc.).
I, for one, am looking forward to seeing the Beckerheads hit a hundred strong, and I predict it won't be too much longer.
All the info you need can be found here: http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=796576

I'm trying, I own 2 Beckers now and hoping to get a BK9 or BK7 soon. I fulfilled that part of the requirement so far.

Yep, I realize that it's a progressive effort.

Remember that lots of things are fair game and pics are always appreciated.
Mod your knife? Post about it.
Do something cool with your knife? Post about it.
Get a new sheath or modify an existing one? Post about it.
Decide to send me your knives for "inspection"? Post about it. :p :D

Believe me, folks are interested in the Becker line of users, and since the Becker forum is really starting to pick up momentum, you'll get good feedback.

The 25 posts of value & 5 threads of value, are these included in the 75 posts on BF or separate?

I think so, though Bladite and/or Moose will have to chime in with the final word.
75 posts on BFC just refers to your overall post count, I believe.
All of them could be in the Becker forum, as far as that goes.

If I could give away some posts to you guys, I'd do it. There's plenty to go around. :D

30 211 posts Guyon! You have plenty!
You've certainly been around the block a coupla times......how long you been on BF?

I've been here about two weeks now. :D

I want to apply for membership but not just yet. I have no (decent) camera. Got some Becker transmogrifications in mind and I wanna take progress pics. If for no other reason than to show the emergency room doc what happened.

Ha! Looking forward to your posts.

After reading the following (quoted) post in the Let's Roll thread, I think the main things to think about are your 5 threads and 25 posts in Becker. Moose and Bladite are looking for posts that contribute and help drive some of the conversations in positive directions. Not just a one-word "awesome" or "bingo" or "flamingo!"

Honestly, the idea here is to build an active knowledge community. People want to post and read in the Becker forum because it has become a space that offers good ideas and a laid-back atmosphere at the same time. And conversely, the powers that be want members who will enjoy contributing to such a community.

"what is quality phaedrus?"

well, for instance, 4 posts in a row in the same thread aren't too valuable ;) 5 posts in 5 threads saying "alright!" aren't so great either. participate, don't just get a post count.

new threads: something more than a "me too" but less than the illiad? really it comes down to: if you create a new thread, and you have content, are telling us your adventure, showing off your used and abused Becker, or just generally asking thoughtful questions about design and use, or heck, even being off topic... you don't have to document chopping redwoods down :>

there are forums that will ban someone if they attempt to meet the requirements in too short a time (i think the record was something like under 10 minutes)... there's no rush. sit a spell, take your boots off, have a coffee :)

as for requests... the numbers will grow with membership. reasonable requests are reasonable. generally if you request a number too far forward, you may have to wait to get it until the membership body grows to that point.

less rambly:

- Posts of value are as follow:
No one word posts, no smilies only posts, and contribute to the conversation in the thread. These will be judged by the Moderators.

Hey Guyon, how does one tell how many posts they've made in this sub-forum?

Doc

Hey Doc, do an Advanced Search (one option under Search).
Put your username in the User Name field, and then go down to the Search in Forum(s) field and choose the Becker forum.
Note that, below User Name, you can opt for either posts (which will give you total posts) or for threads (which will give you total threads).

Hey, this I'll say too...

I don't think (though Bladite and Moose may disagree) that there's anything wrong with a thoughtful question as a thread topic. "Hey, who has got Beckers?" is probably not going to get you much credit, but if you want to know about particular uses, certain modifications, outdoor techniques, and so on, then go ahead and post up your question(s) and thoughts. That's one way in which we can have good conversations and create some of that shared knowledge I was typing about a couple of posts ago. Years ago, I already knew a fair amount about rifles, but I learned a lot of what I know about shotguns and handguns by reading and posting at The Firing Line, and I was never too shy to ask when I had a question.

Of course, if you want details about knife specs, knife models, or Becker history, Bladite's got you covered in the Blade Database and FAQs. :D

I wanna be a beckerhead, and i wanna be present in the beckerhead map !! I have to keep on to rise beckerhead status

Yeah what Guyon said plus, go back a couple weeks into the threads and read those. It'll bring up other questions that you may wish to ask.
