Calling All Beckerhead Wannabes

Me, Bladite, or Ethan decide what's quality or not. Most times, when someone requests a number, I do the leg work to verify their info, and to check the overall style of posting. Most qualify without much research needed, as I remember what they have been posting about.

I'll say this, some of the topics of "Make a Thread" have been horse whipped to death. Original ideas are most appreciated, but if you have a question, ask. You may or may not find the info in the FAQ, chances are, you will.

Posts of value are at our (Becker Mods) descretion, and we will never specifically state what is quality, and what is not, as it varies depending on the thread or post.

This is the interwebz, and new, original ideas can be hard to come by, so don't be shy about it, but please don't waste the bandwidth either with, "Lets see those Beckers". :D

Good luck ya'll, and don't worry, its about making the posts and threads over some time here, we don't give BH #'s out to someone that does their creds in a day. Or even a week somethimes. Make the creds, get the number, its that simple.

Thanks THE GUYON, for making this post, it really helps.

Thanks guys! 57 posts and 4 threads, but that's ok, because I'm working on #5 atm.

Outstanding! I can't think of anyone besides Bladite whom I associate so clearly with the Becker Machax.

Thanks Guyon, but I might have to disappoint. Where I am tentatively planning to do this, is kind of a public park, so I'll be taking the BK-2. I'd rather lose that than my Machax, not that I want to lose either one.

Us Ontarioans are lucky enough to have a holiday tomorrow. It's called Family Day and since my family are out and about tomorrow, I'll have to console myself with playing in the woods, unless..........

Might screw up my driving plans with the freezing rain. If so, there's always next week.

You have no idea. I've been asking for this for weeks.

This is a great group here.

I tend to joke around alot and give folks sh!t, but it's all good. Just bustin'.

If you have a question or can offer some advise it really is a good spot.

So stay tuned campers, and "if the creek don't rise and the ain't no melt down, we'll do all over again here on the big mattress"

Anyone know where that is from ?

"Anyone ? Anyone ? Bueller ? " :D

I'm slow, but will get there eventually.

Work has been keeping me down, though.:(

Well, if there's one thing I know, it's that the Beckerheads could use more people with extremely powerful lasers at their disposal.
Next step? World domination. Bwahahahahahaaaa. :D

Hey Everybody......

Just a word of support for Guyon's post about building an active knowledge seeking community - that and having fun is what I hope we achieve in our little neighborhood......You all know that my interests lie in primitive skills and the cutlery and tools that support that interest.....That is why I welcome posts on other good USING knives and their strengths and weaknesses.....Please try to bring a Becker in there somewhere(I am not sure about BF rules here)......I really want to add that I am SOOOOO happy we have managed to keep it light and reasonably civil.....Thanks to you all......

All Best....

Thanks for the encouraing words. It's the enthusiasm, positivity, and reviews that I found on this forum that helped decide to purchase a Becker (BK2). Soon as it gets here, I'll contribute my own little bit to the fun and I'm definitely looking forward to it.

post of a value honor Ethan and the Mods, and give praise to Toooj and the fine folks at KaBar that we name and all those we do not yet know...

also, $100 and a Becker knife will take you far ;) use that $100 and get a cheap digicam if you don't have one. post :)

a really good post of value indication shows that you at least skimmed the most recent few hundred posts, scanned the FAQ, and got a feel for the place, and jump in. special bonus value if you go to the OLDEST posts and start digging around. you might find some COOL old post necro goodness :)

if you ask a trivially answered question from the FAQ, or a recent post, or the 100th iteration of "which one first" :) well, i hate to say it, but there's no prizes for that. we try to culivate patience and all that, but we can sometimes tell when someone didn't try that hard. google is your friend. the search function works. we've years of history here now. milk it! :)

and if you try to chop a knife in half, at least finish the job ;) heh heh...

I'm working on this also. Most of my posts are in the Becker section, I love this place. There's alot of info a good people here that are always willing to help

I wonder ... Becker BK9 with laser rangefinder?:confused::)

Hey Guyon, I'm new to all this and have found myself sucked into quickly becoming a Beckerhead. I have the new Ritter on pre-order and as yet have not been able to acquire a Becker knife. I'm an old fashioned type guy and want to get a Camilus. Problem is I'm not sure where to look on this site or others to get one. Any suggestions? I appreciate it.

lawdawg342, if you want a Camillus, you're going to have to look on the secondary market. Camillus went belly up and tried to take the Becker line with it. Ethan had to fight to keep his designs, which are now made by Ka-Bar. Plenty of good vendors sell the Ka-Bar Beckers, which are just as good, if not better. You can Google Becker knives, but that doesn't give you insight into trusted vendors, so I'm going to mention places like Tomar's, Chestnut Ridge, Rocky National, New Graham. Though there are other good vendors, I know those four are solid.

I'm going to work up to it, I think. That fork challenge looks like a lot of fun, hopefully there will be more entertaining and creative challenges ahead (when I actually have delivery of my Becker).
