Are you REALLY saying that it is the norm for people with extreme reactions to respond well to rational explanations? Or, are you asking me to prove a negative to show how clever you are? :p And, while we are at it, just what is your scientific experience (which you allude to) in such matters (I do have an advanced degree in Experimental Psychology).

Yeah. I take the time to calmly explain to people without condescending or insulting their intelligence and almost always have positive results. Shockingly, people respond very well to taking their concerns seriously and addressing them like everyone involved is an adult. Try it some time.

What are you more afraid of a person with screwdriver , a knife, a chainsaw or a car?

What's more dangerous? Personally a guy with a chainsaw scares me way more than a guy with a knife. Yet I could walk down the street carryin' one, keep one on my front seat in the truck and no one would say boo. People perceive threats based on immediacy, "The sun is going to burn out and the earth will freeze'. Not a big threat in my book, now a guy chasin' me with a runnin' chainsaw... That's an immediate threat, something I can wrap my head around. That's something everyone should be Leary of. ;)

I thought "snowflake" was a compliment, because they're unique and beautiful! I knew a person once who would get scared as hell when anyone pulled out a knife. I found out later he was the kind of person with no moral character, e.g. he stole an object of considerable value from a mutual friend. The only other people I know who criticize my affection for knives are convicted felons. I still remember the first day of trucker orientation at my first over the road job, the speaker insisted that a knife was the most important of 3 items a trucker shouldn't ever be without, forgot the other 2

I suggest that some of the people here attend a PITA rally and explain the need for medical animal experimentation, or a Handgun control inc. rally and explain the drop in violent crime in areas with CCW availability, perhaps a vegan meeting and explaining the rights of meat eaters. There are more, but you get the point (I hope) Try it, you'll love it. (if the peaceful folk don't beat you to death). There is a great difference between meaningful, individual encounters and dealing with "sheeple".

Jesus, man, what have you done with your knives that people are organizing rallies against you?!

I know religion is a no-no and will risk admonition from the mods, but Jesus is my Lord and Savior and I would much appreciate you keeping your insults to me. Thank you.

Knives are mostly tools but perhaps sometimes weapons.

Fear of weapons is a sign of sexual immaturity. Sigmund Freud
