I also picked up a 1969 Keen Kutter commemorative SW 897UH with a very early serial number. :)

Nice pickups... Those look sweet!:thumbsup:

We’ve got pretty close serials! Probably made in the same week. The long pulls on these are much better than my earlier one these are nice and deep. Way easier to open and my nail doesn’t slip out 04ACE819-4AC2-4108-BC12-6015A7C5B327.jpeg

My friend, from what I have seen of your Three Bladers- No...you need to carry that Two bladed beauty there, and packe all those old three bladers and send 'em to me :D

I haven't seen any "hatred" towards any of the old USA Schrade family of brands.
(offshore made, yes. Even the Imperial Ireland made knives are not so popular, it seems.)

I only have a few of the now vintage (or are they "antiques'?) that I recall the mkdel numbers of.
An Old Timer 7OT and 6OT. I have a Schtade Walden jack knife (2 blades) but I never carry it. The main blade backspring does not move at all, at all, when the blade is opened and closed.
I'm guessing the backspring has been worn away by the tang because the former owner(s) failed to lube the joint.

No falut of the knife's of course.

If Schrade was still around for warranty on the domestic made knives, I'd send it in to 'em. Then again, failure to lube the joint may not have been covered under warranty, anyway.

My 6OT and 7OT don't get carried much anymore.
Both need a blade transplant. :(
I found some NOS USA made replacement "SCHRADE Plus" blades for them (with the correct tang stamps for model number) :) but haven't had the chance or funds to send them to someone I trust to perform the operation.

I do carry my 1960's Ulster BSA Scout knife and No. 10 Barlow quite often, though.:)

Too small ... I like the 8OT/858OT, and 885UH.
. I have several in the 8OT size and do like them. I’ve never laid hands on an 858, but for my pocket I think it’d be bigger than I care for.
