Camillus and Schrade of Old Given Short Shrift Now-A-Days

Info gleaned from previous owner, and other sources!!
"The Model 8813 was introduced in 1926 by Schrade Cut Co as the Premium Texas Stock Knife and in 1952 the pattern number was shortened to 881. The 881 inked on the blade but not stamped on the back of the tang of the main blade would indicate 1952 production. Also there was a model shown in the “Elusive Schrades” thread said to have been only in the catalogue in 1953-54 and the pics showed the “Schrade Walden NY USA” tang stamp. This one reads “Schrade Walden NY” further encouraging the 1952 hypothesis."
Nice, early "Walden", still using Peachseed!! 😁 Walden peachseed Stock 1.jpgWalden peachseed Stock 2.jpg

Note the salesman's ink on the blade!!😎

Been on a 3-day business trip down to the wallboard plant; got home and changed into shorts, grabbed a light jackknife and my wife, and we went out to Waffle House (her choice!) for dinner. Schrade USA 33OT.

Very nice!! I appreciate the information contained in this post as well! I posted this one yesterday, but it's in the pocket today as well. So, snapped a new pic. A slightly older and beat up 8813 from the cut co era. Peach seed jigging, not pick bone.
