Camillus Becker BK77

Go for it dude. I'll refrain. It's a pure user hope you can score it for less $$$.

Placed my bid! I'm not going to spend more than $200. From what I've read, this is one of the best Beckers ever made. Whats the general appraised value of this blade? Anybody wanna give me an estimate?

what's the value of one of the best blades made that is 20-25 (or even 30?) years old. your call :) or go buy a cold steel khukri :>

also, that's a Gary Brommeland Leather Sheath - 10 oz leather, one of the very early, handmade sheaths, and best of class. sure, it's used, but that's history right there. probably will clean up nicely...

looks like Estaloc handles as well.

someone will get lucky...

Well, like I said, I am prepared to pay about $200, hopefully I get lucky.

i understand the nostalgia of the blade but a used one like that doesn't get me motivated to buy, esp when they will be offered up much cheaper next year. that way I can use the hell outta the thing and not feel bad

the new one will be different, lighter, just sayin'

I have really taken a liking to these knives and I am enthralled with the history. Knowing that this is like one of the original blades from Ethan Becker just gets me excited. I would rather take a '69 Camaro that needed work over a 2012 Camaro any day. I am a fan of classics. I have grown to love these knives and an original design is something I would cherish. Looking at the Machax on the bay, she is my Eleanor...

I know what you mean. Im actually the high bidder on the camillus just bcuz I wanna say I own a camillus version which will be, to me at least, special

Honestly, even though these knives are awesome, it is the people that make them so special. As cheezy as it sounds, Moose, Bladite, and Guyon, and especially Ethan and Toooj have made these blades even better because I've gotten to know the people that make them. I know the people who touch them on their way out the door, and I am proud to be a part of that.

thanks for the info jarodmichael!
Another Machax on the bay! With leather sheath.

Kirei, there is a BK10 from KaBar in the works, but I will be a couple years until they are out. The Brute should be out around Jan (hopefully) for SHOT 2012 along with the Tweeners and Machax all made in the states. (Assumed that the Brute will be made stateside due to whispers)

Moose, Bladite or Guyon please correct me if I'm wrong!!

how much is a can of tan paint? :) *grin*

"the same price as a regular camillus BK9" is my standard answer :D

Ha! that's what goes through my mind. i like to use 'em, not so much of a collector. still, the white whales still catch me once in a while. do you know if the tan ones were really any less common? they seem to show up less in people's knife photos. thanks!

less common, it's a paint difference really, there's nothing extra special about them you couldn't do yourself, except a tan sheath :) get a spec ops, and probably nobody would know. if you camo one yourself, even more cool. heck, buy a user, strip it, clean it, put duracoat on it, and obtain better for less. people go ga-ga because it's tan. yawn :)
