Which yellow did you use, my 10 year old grandson is working on stripping a BK11 as I am typing this. I showed him this picture and he really liked the yellow. So now I guess I’ll have to buy a set of micarta slabs for his next project, he has been trying different cord wraps but isn’t happy with any of the ones he’s tried and he wants to do it on his own with no help. His mother is deployed in Kuwait right now and I’m just trying to keep him busy. After giving away three of my Cam Neckers, I was left with four more that I just finished. Thank you, this we will try. Thank you very much. Chuckchuck4570 , Rit DyeMore Synthetic Daffodil Yellow.
It looks like a mustard color out of the bottle. I add it to the water with a splash of white vinegar. Bring the water up to the smoking point and keep it there for 25 minutes.![]()

The first step is protect the edge. I just used a business card folded around the blade and taped. Then I use a Dremel with the little Drum Sander . Have a wet rag for coolingHow was that done? A round file + sandpaper?
That's a Very Nice Group tmanThe Cam 11 is one of my favorites. Here are my two (among some other knives)![]()
Your welcomeThanks Xr6x! I love the mod you did on your 11. I thought about doing it too.. just that little bit seems like it would make such a difference in the grip
