Camp FARR 2011 - A Knifestyle Thread

Sounds like a really fun weekend with good people and some great looking knives. Thanks for sharing Roger.

Since you asked for some action photos, here's a couple knives I made getting some use this fall. Not me hunting, a couple other guys kind enough to share some real feedback.

Just wonderful stuff I am jealous

I only haveone question who is that old guy in Gregory's clothes :)

Thanks for adding those in Stuart - must be gratifying to see knives like that put to work.

Roger

GREAT thread Roger! It has a bit of everything fun to do in the outdoors and that JW Winchester Case is SWEET!

It was fun to vicariously enjoy the trip!

I love you, you big bastid! The girl that cuts my hair made me feel better about it... she said "You know, it's not really coming in grey, it's coming in white!"

You, of all people, Joey, have GOT to post some 'knife-in-action' shots - get on it! You're a man of action and mystery!

Nice shots, Stuart - looks like a LOT of dressing gonna happen there!

Matt I will take white over mine which is falling out :)

I have yet to draw blood this year I have passed on three bucks within 10 yards and have not dumped the string after last years 5 yd pig I am a bit picky :)

This year we have been working on form with the littles

Bell is looking pretty good

Cool stuff Joe! Love the shot of the Bell with the bow. I'm glad those angels have a Dad who is perfectly capable of scaring the living crap out of boyfriends of the future. ;)

I'm enjoying THIS thread. Cool tools, great days.

Impressive, descriptive writing puts the edge on the blade. Crisp details. :D

Thanks!

Thanks Roger

The best thing I ever did was build an indoor archery range in the basement

At night we fling some arrows :)

Those girls are growing up--great form on the bow! Yep, as Roger says, it won't be long before they're bringing home unsuspecting boyfriends. Better get your game face on, pard. :D

Had to chuckle at the two pics with that nice buck. In the first, you aptly demonstrate the form all hunters must learn for proper photos--get that rack as far out in front of you as possible! Second photo is great with the girls. What happened to your oldest on crutches?

Will that was last year and she had a fractured foot. Believe it or not this year she has a fractured back don't worry she is gonna be fine she has 2 fractured vertabres and has to wear a back brace and can't compete this year. People complain about footbal injuries they should have to deal with gymnastic and cheerleadig accidents :). Thanks for the concern my friend

Jesus, Joe--glad to hear she's going to be okay. Yeah, football players don't form human pyramids that can collapse or intentionally do flips that result in missed landings and spinal injuries. That's a tough cookie you have there--wonder who she gets that from...

Not me Will I'm a sissy :)

Just got off the phone with my buddy John Horrigan and he sent me these pics of a deer he just harvested with a long bow he made and of course a knife he made also

He also like the laminates for field work

Thanks Jeff - have a good outing this morning and best of luck at the Vineyard. Hope you get another fine buck like that!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends!

Roger

Thanks Roger, im just getting my pheasant vest ready for the last hunt of the season now, my good friend will be running his prize English pointer sunny for us! She is from the bob welke lines...and and a real machine!

It is good to so many of us still getting outdoors and hunting.. Especially Joe P who is teaching his little ones. This is a great little community here on BF, I wish all my new friends here a happy thanksgiving and look forward to our big meal Thursday at blade 2012!

Jeff

Man that looks fun... I love my grouse, but my dog needs some pheasant cover like that. Oh jealousy....
