Camp FARR 2011 - A Knifestyle Thread

Here is my first deer (a big northern Wisconsin doe) taken with one of the reflex deflex bamboo backed longbows I used to make... And what ultimately got me into knife making....

I like the Bow. I've made 4 long bows, one a take down. I really enjoyed it. I had to finally pull some pokers back from the fire and really concentrate on the knives. One of those pokers is bowmaking. It is pretty neet to shot a deer with a bow you made.

my 'knifestyle' doesn't include hunting for animals...instead, I hunt for trails!
so I can do this on them; http://www.pinkbike.com/video/229616/

It was the hunt for trails that got me back into knives!

Lots of different ways to live the knifestyle, Lorien - that sure counts. Thanks for the pics.

well I had to add another. I've been holding on to my laminated camp knife to play with and decided to use it to harvest our family's first wild caught 'Charlie Brown' Christmas tree.....

(by the way... do your research on trees before you cut... I just found out that white spruce will probably lose all of it's needles before Christmas... oops)

^awesome!:D:thumbup:

Dang ! Look at that country, and what a campfire ! Does this quailify as a Knifestyle ?

I am getting sick just looking at it !

Thanks for the additional info and link - that is a seriously gorgeous knife. I take it the absence of a pin didn't prove to be a problem?

Do you have a web site Erik?
