I am looking for a college campus edc blade.

I have already looked at all of the policies and I will be ok if I carry one.

I have some spending money from a summer job and I find that I could use an edc blade for engineering projects (I already have a multi-tool).

What would be a good option? I have considered the delica or maybe a mini grip, but what is a small edc blade that would be appropriate for a college campus?

My campus is in Florida and abides by Florida's law of "a common pocketknife". I carried a slip-joint peanut for the first month just to be safe, but i saw so many people with leeks, blurs, generic large pocket knives.

I ended up grabbing my buck vantage force last time I was home and I carry that usually.

Does it need to be a one-hand opener? I found I got a lot less "looks" carrying a slip joint, whatever GEC tickles your fancy is my recommendation, there lockbacks are great if you want a lock. Check out the upcoming GEC 15 electricians knife.
Also, what is your price range? A CRK Mnandi or small sebenza would work perfectly.
If that's too pricey a Benchmade Ritter mini grip or any spyderco you like would be a good option.

I can't imagine why you would need a one hand opening, locking blade knife on campus. I would suggest a Swiss Army Knife with a bottle opener, tweezers and scissors. They will get more work than any blade.

I say either a nice slip-joint like a SAK or Peanut if you want a small knife. One hand opener I carry a Kershaw Cryo if I want to carry a small knife. I do like Leeks as well, lots of options with Leeks.

It's not so much that I NEED an edc blade but more that I want one for my cutting tasks and I can have one. Also, I carry around a multi tool and classic SAK so I have most of the tools I need for those of you suggesting an sak.

i have either Dragonfly or Pingo ( both are spydercos) in my pencil case everyday when I go to campus.
I do always have a leatherman surge in my bag's tool compartment along with zipties, powerbank, mobile phone charger, first aid kit, and such.
in my pocket, I always carry an opinel or delica or an Ontario RAT model 1. I like both one handed and two handed opening methods, two handed is classy and one handed is practical... i have carried SAKs too.

Buck Vantage. The small 'Avid' has woodgrain scales, and looks very classy. You can open it fast with the flipper, or slowly with the thumb hole. Good steel, useful blade shape, big enough for edc without being threatening.

for the same reasons you would need one off campus.

I don't see what's wrong with having a safer, more convenient to use tool.

Seconding the Spyderco Dragonfly. I got the ZDP-189 version which goes for around $75 (but you can easily find it for cheaper than that) and it's managed to displace my GB Folder from my EDC. I also find it a lot more comfortable than the Mini-Grip. The small blade and its finger choil which sits right next the blade makes it ideal for detail cuts, which I believe would be a lot more useful to you as an engineering student.

I second this. If you want to go a little smaller and still have a classy but useful knife the buck prince might be up your alley.
Or a stockman.
