can any tw90 owners post a quick vid?

My responses is the same as last time .lol Mabey if you whatch the video instead of.makeing assumption

I bear no animosity towards you I just think it's comical you would write soo much and not take 2 min to just whatch it lmao

Why don't you just post the video instead of trying to direct people to Facebook? Not everybody uses Facebook.

Everybody here is trying to help you, based on their own experiences. The better the information you post here (like the video for example) then the more accurate answers you will receive. The answers that you are getting may not fit with your preconceptions, but that doesn't make them untrue.

You're new to this sub forum, so maybe you should try being less abrasive.

I"m willing to watch the video, but you're unwilling to post it or email it.

No facebook here

You have to make it easy for us to help you.
Also you have to make us want to help you.

The only reason I'm not trying to post it is because it wasn't supposed to be shared broadly
The guy didn't mind if I shared it to a few knife makers

Sorry I don't even know how to transfer it from Facebook messenger

I'm on facebook right now. Javan Christian Rhyne Dempsey

Send me a PM, show me this video.

As do we.

Take a chance what the video then I will will both ears open listen to what you have to say I'd like to be friends with everyone and you see by my Facebook friend count I'm not concerned with Facebook either it's just the tool that was used for communication

ok I watched the video(s) from the OP. I'm no expert but on the 2nd video which shows alot of wobble, I would say it looks like there is not enough tension on the belt and it's thin backed belt.
that's my opinion from watching and again, I'm no expert.

the belt seems to curl at each end in between the wheels. that's what I noticed, in between the grooved tracking wheel and the top wheel of the platen.

the video(s) are not from Northridge and I suggested that they were of little value and he should be looking to the maker for a video or details on the tracking

and on a personal note, I talked to Paul a little and if we can all let this thread go :-) I think he will try to do a better job of posting and communicating

cheers friends, after all, it's just knives, right? :-)

Thank you for your opinion HSC I appreciate you taking the time .

Basically I'm waiting on the George's video like I had said and hsc reiterated that it needs to come from George.
Thanks

I will close the thread until I can see what George has to say
Thanks HSC
AND to any that I may have come off as an A - hole I sincerely did not mean it .
It's only my thirst for truth and knowledge :)

Looks like cheap belts and low tension to me:

WOW thanks for going against what the person that gave me the videos said not to do .

And I'm the abrasive one?
I don't remember giving permission to post the vids but there you go
For all to see

Chuck peters that was very rude of you to post those on you tube

Where is the honor?

Looking at that video it is, as been mentioned several times, belt tension and or bad belt causing that tracking problem.

The grinder does not seem to be the problem, peoples lack of experience does seem to be the cause.

It is hard to believe such a common problem has been shrouded in so much mystery in this thread.

The belt is the problem

Agreed

Honor, is why it was shrouded... if it needs to be explained there is none here :)
If I'd known it was going to youtube I never would have shared it with chuck.

So how do you adjust the tension ? Pull the tool arm farther? Replace the shock with a stronger one? (Which is unacceptable imo for a new machine)

Here is the video i made it took all night to upload to youtube, here it is running with different belts of different manufactures, Teppojutsu you mention repeatedly in your posts it may be assembled wrong, cant happen, why you ask, because it comes assembled the only assembly there is is 4 bolts to mount the motor, 6 bolts to mount the vfd and vfd bracket, and to tighten the drive wheel set screw in which every wheel is pre fitted to the motor shaft and comes with a spacer block to set the correct offset to the tracking and flat platen wheels, and its completely pre wired, at the end of the video i show measuring tracking wheel and flat platen wheel spacers i had my arms wrapped around the camera and tripod a bit awkward, there are no washers or shims to adjust spacing, and just in case you are not sure about increments on a micrometer the last number is in tenths not thousandths, if you look at the way its made its pretty hard to mess it up, I have seen belts a lot worse than those videos, as for not enough belt tension we have run jflex high grit belts (thin backing) and they have never cupped like the one in the video, our drive and tracking wheels have low crowns you dont need high crowned wheels if your machine is lined up properly, in previous posts you asked for audio of the belt running, different belts make different noise levels if you want a quiet grinder put rubber coated wheels on your flat platen wheels and you wont hear the tape joint as much.

As for the grooves cut in our drive, tracking and platen wheels first off they are only 0.012 deep two and a half times as thick as a human hair, they are perfectly spaced and their purpose is to allow a little air between the belt and wheels surface they do not affect tracking whatsoever, we have made smooth ones also no difference, on the tracking wheel the two outside grooves are visible with the belt running and a perfect way to judge if the belt is centered perfectly.

In the two treads i have seen you started you want people to compare the Northridge grinder and the TW90 his comes with rubber coated platen wheels and an adjustable belt tension system and a long track record of high quality and great customer service seems to me you would be best served to purchase a TW90 and alleviate any lingering concerns you may have about our product.

Thank you George

Best post in this thread. Owning my own business providing therapy, I've turned people away for my own sanity. It's rare, but the best way to handle some situations.

I watched the videos. I agree, cheap belt and/or too low tension. Really straight forward.

Thank you George I'm sure you also read how I said to be fair we needed to hear from you , thank you sir much obliged.

I actually wanted the northridge over the tw . But since there where no videos out there , the 2 I got gave me reason for concern.

Thanks for putting this thread to rest :)

And yes you've made me and I'm sure more then me happy with the video.

Sorry for the hub Ub hopefully the other 2 guys get better belts.

This thread can be locked now

After reading this thread one thing comes to mind, "I reserve the right to refuse service "

And that would be his right just like it was mine to ask .

This is where people come to learn right?

Edit he learned me up real good
