can any tw90 owners post a quick vid?

Looks like cheap belts and low tension to me:

Thanks for posting the videos. I can't believe anyone would look at those videos and try to blame the grinder?

George, your post is very well said. Sometimes a sale isn't worth the headaches it will cause.

Teppojutsu, if you didn't understand that the problem was belt wobble, you probably would have been better off asking George about the issue instead of posting, and making implications without being willing to show anyone the evidence.

As a side note
I don't think I ever condemned the Northridge but with my noob eyes, was overly concerned .

I have been set straight thanks

I don't think I ever implicated anything just noob theories was all.

A slice of humble pie does me well sometimes :)

I don't see how you were able to come up with theories on how the grinder runs, having never run a 2x72 before.
You created all of this drama over a video that you watched on the internet.

You need to read more, and post less.

There seems to be much ado about nothing here. OP had some concerns about a machine for which relatively little information exists. He's clearly not a seasoned knife maker with half a dozen different 2x72 grinders in the shop to derive any information or experience from. Not everybody has $3k worth of disposable income lying around for new tools, and it's certainly not as if he can take it back to the local hardware store and get his money back if there's a problem.

I'm sure we've all read or heard about several bad experiences with one kind of product or another, so showing a little caution in this day and age is not anything to get too terribly ruffled up about.
Now I'm sure there's a limit to skepticism and personal requests of course, but seems to me that the only thing that was requested was a quick clip of the belt tracking over the wheels/platen, with the manufacture provided, and which immediately satisfied the purpose of this thread.

^thank you knife to a gunfight
I said I ate my humble pie
If you know me you know I hate the flavor :)

Edit and I'm sure I have a dumbass label on me for a while for it
But I still like this forum and I still want to be a part of it
Just like I still like the northridge now that my concerns have been put to bed

So if a grinder has a bad design flaw (northridge) you could adjust it in minutes huh.

No offense taken
Pacience is a virtue.

I'm looking to buy a great tool not an ok peice of crap

I got plenty of time to grind but no time to complain about a grinder that isn't doing what I need.

Trust me if you saw the videos I have of the northridge you'd be saying WTF

Personally I think it comes from The wheels that have the "cooling" grooves in them. ( EDIT: the wheels might be perfect but I believe the grooves magnifies any inconsistencies in the belt itself good idea but bad function )

PLEASE ENLIGHTEN me sir, how you would adjust that? Since you say you can and I'm not putting tape on a 3000$ peice of equipment out of the box)

Do you have a Northridge?
How do you even know what I'm talking about? No offense :)

My request was a simple one 30 secs of video from a straight on view point of the flat platen running that's all
I will be calling George about this issue later today

And in not trying to sound standoff ish in any way

There are many new things you will come across when learning to make knives.

Heads up, when your high carbon blade comes out of heat treat/quench it will have a dark scale on it.

This does not mean your heat treat oven is a piece crap :):D
