Can anyone identify this knife?

Maeknives just stop while you are well behind, forums have rules, you've managed to break about five of them in this thread. Chill out, stick around, and learn from those that have been around for awhile. This is a great forum if you pay attention, if you think you make the rules then you won't be here long.

You have to know the rules before you try to skirt them.
When you signed up, you checked a box that states you read the terms of agreement. In that it states that you can't do what you did in this thread.

For those keeping score at home:
- Asking for a value with the wrong membership level
- Foul language in general chat
- Quoting foul language from a W&C thread in general chat
- Name calling
- Discussing the posters and not just asking a moderator to check in, if it was felt that intervening was mandatory

Others that are frowned upon by the members include:
- Acting as if a thread is Theirs to monitor as they see fit
- Acting as if skirting the rules isn't an issue
- Possibly some others that I can't be any more bothered to find...
--------
I honestly do wish you luck finding the information that you seek (aside from price, unless your a gold membership level).

It sounds like the knife has some sentimental ties, and asking about history, place of crafting, usage, and other non-value associated questions are well within the rules.

Good luck.

So, new guy here knows enough to find someone's past posts, yet can't understand how to read the posted rules stickied right on top of this very page. Awesome.

Remember, we were all new here once..... emphasis on ONCE in this case it seems.

Me or hall monitor?

Welcome to the site....I'm a hall monitor.

You asked about value which is against the rules at your membership level. It doesn't matter what you don't know or who's knife it is. There....it's been said (again) and we can move on.

Let's continue with on-topic posts only. Any additional issues should be reported

n2s already identified the knife. How your co-worker's father came in to possession of it is anyone's guess. His travels don't appear to have taken him near Sudan or North Africa. Maybe he traded for or bought it from another soldier who picked it up while serving in Africa. We don't even have any real proof this is WWII era.

I said on-topic posts...no further pot stirring is needed.

Well to the O.P. If you are wanting value and more info on that knife and do like collecting, buying, and learning about knives you should upgrade your membership because for the most part this community is awesome and helpful. Yea you have 60 year old adolescents on here that you won't get along with but don't let stuff like that bug you. You deal with that all the time in life.
Anyways hope I see you on here as a Regular member and very cool knife BTW.

It is clearly not because I am still left wondering what the value is...thanks for hijacking my thread though and bogging it up with your hall monitor...ness. Again, please back off so I can get some real answers from people who care about knives more than they do picking on a new user.
House rules are house rules. We are invited here into another man's house. We need to abide by his rules.

Consider reading the rules.

It's an interesting little dagger. I am not sure why value would really factor in if it's not yours, and if it has sentimental value to the owner. But it doesn't appear to have much in the way of wear and tear from use. Looks more like it was just carried around and the handle was damaged as a result. Given the vicinity of Sudan to the locations you listed? My guess is that the knife was just traded or sold in batches, and somehow that ended up in the hands of your coworker's father.

Welcome to the forums

Talking about how the OP was hoping the knife community would be helpful and then coming here and telling someone to eff off... can't make this stuff up :p

Conform. Zine fuhrer will not tolerate individuality or rule breaking. Lives are at stake s/. The hall monitors have spoken. P.S. I've never seen one like that. Could be a custom? Good luck though. There are some really cool people around here once you get aquainted.

Some of the really cool people here get really ice cold when people wave the nazi flag.
Back off, talk about the knife, stop talking about people you don't like.
