Can I ask you Hawk guys a question? Input please..

Got both of my hawks in this weekend. Very nice little tools... Didn't have a chance to test them out but will get to that next weekend. Handle is a little thinner for my hands (I'm told I am a rather large man, XL gloves anyone... lol) so will be wrapping the handle of one. Fit my wife perfectly and now she is getting one and will be teaching her how to throw during our camping vacation next week... Help me all I need is her to get better than me at that...

As I said nice axes and I'm very happy with them...

Here it is! I'm a Hawk guy, all my life. This is the best Hammer forged Hawk I have now (5 hammer forged, 9 total). It's alot thicker than my others and will be a better splitter for sure. It's bout the same thickness as my Carpenters Axe. Sorta Hawk/Axe like. The blade is perfectly straight and exactly even on both sides. The eye is perfect. The edge grind/bevel is perfect. The top and bottom grinds are perfect. Fantastic handle. I'm very impressed. The quality of craftsmanship and level of service is second to none. I paid more than double for Forged Woodsmen's Hawks that would not be picked over this one if all shown together. 23oz with handle, OAL 18 3/16", 4 1/2" from center of eye to edge, 3 1/8" cutting edge.

Lisa,

Congrats

This is my first Hawk
A fine piece of craftsmanship (craftwomanship)
A superb hatchet, great in the head weight and handle length

This is not my first hand axe
This is a working axe
I would highly recommend this Hawk before any other hand-axe/hatchet including some expensive Swedish makes

Looking forward to receiving the ones I ordered when they are ready. Could have used it on my camping trip last weekend.

Bruce

Hey all I got mine the other day. Im making a cover for it now but will post some pics hopefully tonight. I will say this, for the price it is the best damn hawk on the market period!!

Lisa,
I've been following this thread for a while now and if you're still adding folks to the list I would definitely like one.
Thanks.
Charles.

I appreciate the kind words, really..Anyone wanting to reach me can do so by emailing me at wolfcreekforge@bellsouth.net Phillip is picking up 20' of the mild steel for me in the morning so we can get back on these hawks..He "unknowingly:rolleyes:" used the last of my 1 1/2" x 1/4" stock on a side project of his own...:D
