Thanks for the update Kentucky! I know the hawk will be worth the wait and the most important thing is for you guys to take care of yourselves.

I've been wanting to try out a hawk, never had one. But I don't want to "try out" at $150+ hawk, nor do I want to send a dime to Cold Steel. $50 for your work would be a steal, IMO.
Here it is! I'm a Hawk guy, all my life. This is the best Hammer forged Hawk I have now (5 hammer forged, 9 total). It's alot thicker than my others and will be a better splitter for sure. It's bout the same thickness as my Carpenters Axe. Sorta Hawk/Axe like. The blade is perfectly straight and exactly even on both sides. The eye is perfect. The edge grind/bevel is perfect. The top and bottom grinds are perfect. Fantastic handle. I'm very impressed. The quality of craftsmanship and level of service is second to none. I paid more than double for Forged Woodsmen's Hawks that would not be picked over this one if all shown together. 23oz with handle, OAL 18 3/16", 4 1/2" from center of eye to edge, 3 1/8" cutting edge.
