Okay, can someone please tell me about the ZT0777M390? I had a deposit on the ZT0777 and the dealer contacted me today to tell me ZT is no longer making that knife. I haven't been around for a while and came right here. Did I miss something? I really wanted the composite blade but if that's not an option, can someone please tell me more about this knife? What is the MSRP? Is anything else different besides the steel? Are they only making enough to cover what was ordered?
I'm not being negative and would just like more info. Let's keep this thread positive so it doesn't get locked.
 
They're filling the rest of the order with these. As far as I know, everything is the same, except the steel. MSRP is slightly less IIRC.
 
The M390 version is so folks can get some more
0777 goodness. KAI folks may be able to give more info.
 
Was there any reasons given? I think a all damascus blade would be really sweet.
Was a date given?
 
Look LOL :), this is a public forum. You are consumers :thumbup:. We sell to your dealers :thumbup:. A few dealers, not all dealers have had conversations about the 0777.:o Dealers don't like to hear about info from their customers.:mad: Dealers give us the business when this happens.:grumpy:We don't like getting the business from our dealers.:mad: It is not good business all the way around.:thumbdn:

While we appreciate the interest :), this forum now gives limited access:o. When we're ready to share it we will (promise), until then if we could refrain and show some patience it would be appreciated. :) :thumbup:

ZT, in particular. No longer with "customer service" like that. Honest, but misguided, in my humble estimation.

Indeed. The detail is out there but per KAI's house rules, in this subforum only, best to self-censor.
 
Which, IMO, will just lead to people going elsewhere for their KAI discussions. And that would be a shame.

Guys, the long and the short of it is that we have made the decision not to discuss this product much until it ships to dealers. We are asking that we keep it to a low roar around here. I know it's frustrating, but I am asking politely, and I hope that we can all be cool and just do it.

We recognize that the cat is out of the bag, but I promise you our only goal is to get the knives out there and complete a long overdue project. There is a lot of soreness out there over the 0777 project, and there is plenty of frustration about it in-house as well. There have been a number of unforeseen problems that have delayed it, and that frustrates us to no end. Despite the steel change-up, the knives are awesome, and I think you will still really enjoy owning them. Unfortunately, that's as much as we are going to discuss it right now. It's not some weird secret, and we're not aiming for censorship. We're simply asking our fans to exercise some discretion with the information they have.

I don't enjoy making that request, and I don't see it happening often, but I am asking you to do us a favor. We are happy to discuss these knives ad nauseum once they are released. We just don't want to discuss it right now before they are out there in the market.

We so appreciate the understanding with all of this tender ones. I promise the moment we can share, we will.
