Can We Get Axis Locks On Everything Please?

I like Axis locks.. I like CBBLs too. I also like Compression locks, Frame locks, and a well done Liner lock can be amazing. Button locks are cool as hell, Back locks are tried and true, I do need to try a Tri-Ad lock at some point, but I think I’d like them too. I guess I’m lock neutral. As long as it’s fitted right, I’ll trust the designer to choose the right lock for that knife.

Axis lock is a fun lock to play with and its decently strong. But it has its issues. Blade play is an inherent feature of axis lock in my experience. I’ve tightened pivots down and loctited them, and had it loosen up with blade play again with only light usage. A benchmade is the only knife with blade play that doesn’t bother me at all because it is absolutely normal

Not being a surgeno and 200 pounds if i try it I think that i might hit more than flesh

lol

Seriously why are we discussing this. Obvious why you want a strong lock up. If you wanna discuss the finer points of fileting a man take it somewhere else

Because:

1) You brought it up;
2) You find everyone else's opinion's (even respected makers') laughable; and
3) You seem to be getting increasingly upset that the knife community has not agreed with you.

I have seen chinese knock offs with no blade play

I think the issue with the BM axis lock is they use very fine/high quality springs so it's very nice to use outta the box.

The problem with that is things see to feel a bit more wiggly than they should IMO.

You're critiquing benchmade and their implementation of the lock. That's not an inherent flaw. Especially with washers

Psst. It does not objectively demonstrate that "spring based locks are objectively superior in just about every way to the alternatives."

Sorry.

Well let's start with what non spring lock you think is better.

And I'll shred that idea from there?

You think spring based locks aren't superior. Ok what is as good/ Or better

Uh, yes. Because they are respected knife makers and you aren't. They know what they are doing.

Don't agree? Make your own knives.

Yeah, same here. I'm sure the axis lock does its job just fine. I just don't see why every folding lock blade needs one. But if the OP wants a larger variety of knife designs with his favorite lock, then I totally get where he's coming from.

Look at all the posts in this thread. Many, many examples have been given by many people.

Sure. And I want knives that come with a free rainbow unicorn that poops cinnabons.

But that doesn't mean anyone who disagrees with me, or doesn't make knives like that is stupid.
