Can we talk? Pictures of knives on rocks and other abrasive surfaces.

Ah yeah, i was sold a knife on here that was sold as 'mint'. The edge had chips in it and tip was slightly missing.

But anyways, I take pictures of my knife on rocks or stabbed logs etc. Because when I buy a knife, it's for me to use. I have no plans to ever sell any of my knives, except my sushi knives that get worn down and there's always a new chef would could use a quality knife for cheap, even if slightly worn.

Knife on a rock? Yea I got one too.

I skidded my knife across a rock open like it's skipping a stone and no blade scratches so show me this magical rock that scratches a blade while setting it down will ya

Here is my photo of a knife on a rock, actually a piece of sandstone around the edge of our flowerbed-

I store my knives in old socks in a box, so the knives can't bump against each other. So when I took the knife out to the yard for photos I wasn't about to set the knife on the sandstone. I was taking photos to show the knife, not be artistic, so I just put the old sock down on the sandstone as padding. When my wife saw the photo all she could do was criticize it because there was an old sock in the photo. But the knife was in no danger of being scratched!

All I can say is that this place is the best.

For my users I don't care as much, but it has always irked me. Nice knife on rock or concrete. I don't care about production knives. But honestly, it has bugged me in many photos. Piles of knives stacked on each other. Sitting on rocks. What's next, naked ladies on sand? The chafing and inhumanity of it all!

I guess if you place a knife on a rail road track, you might be thinking that it might just get run over by a train or worse yet, derail a train. A lot about nothing.

Strategically placed knives, no scratches.
