Can we talk? Pictures of knives on rocks and other abrasive surfaces.

Granite is my favorite backdrop. Most pics I take are at work during break.

Here's me about to toss them in to the canyon.

Now if I can just find them, I can sell them as "mint". :D

I have to admit that when I see a pile of knives or guns, it bugs me a little.

That is strange. Piles of guns always excites me! Piles of ammo, great! No real reason to pile up knives only need one or maybe two at most.

Great photos -

Photos like this should have a disclaimer - "NO KNIVES WERE HURT IN THE TAKING OF THESE PHOTOS"

I use the hell out of my knives (except the Umnumzann, it just gets used) . So the chances of a new more noticeable scratch showing from setting it gently on a hard surface is slim to none.

Maybe if I knew I was just going to sell it I would hesitate but I haven't bought a knife yet to sell it.

Is slate OK on a hundred year old knife?

Rocks and water OK?

Polished rock ok?

But piled in a box is definitely unacceptable.

What's your opinion about brass and silver?

And lastly how about polished clay marbles?

^ you know, I will have to put in my vote for the polished rocks being acceptable, everything else is way too dangerous.

That salsa was pretty spicy so maybe it could patina the blade.

I almost didn't find this one when I put it down.

I had a picture of a Salt 1 in a CNC machine so that could hurt it maybe.

Unless you are moving it, it in fact IS NOT obtaining a scratch while sitting still.

Exactly. Just like I can set my hand on a cheese grater, and it doesn't do a thing to me but if I start rubbing my hand up and down on it, THEN there might be a problem.
