Can you find the khukuri?

If you enjoy this picture thank John Powell. John sent me pix yesterday of some engraving on a very nice old khukuri -- the engraving was a likeness of a tiger hunt such as you see below. Only problem was the tiger was almost as big as the elephant. I told John that I had a pix in my file of 10,000 that offered a bit better perspective. Here it
is, John, and there is a khukuri in it. Do you see it?

If I'm not mistaken the guy on the elephants neck is holding a khukuri.

Bill, that COBALT is keen of eye. Did you tell him what his prize was? Would you please post the picture of the 'tulwar khukuris' the engravings are on? Maybe someone can shed some more light on these things. COBALT congratulations, your prize is in the mail and Bill, thanks for the picture.

Yes, John, Bill told me that my prize was that 200 year old khukuri of yours. Email me for my address and details. I assume you will pay for shipping, but if you can't, I'll go ahead and do it. Thanks again, John, for the prize.

Here is John's khukuri with the tulwar style handle and the larger than elephant tiger. Thought I better get this up before it disappears into the 10,000 file.

Thanks for putting up the picture Bill, and as for COBALTS prize you didn't mention he only had to post a small bond and pay 1st class airfare for me and the knife to be delivered at a location of my choice.

John "Indian Giver" Powell. Bill, I'm ashamed, we had a deal. I will quote my 2 and half year old kid; "I want, I want, I want"!!!!

This really isn't fair COBALT...trying to foist over a knife that you wouldn't really like anyway. First, it's really old, very dull, doesn't have a nifty horn or wood handle, no scabbard or cute little knives, and all the silver is kind of flaking off, lots of strange engraving on the blade and the grips don't even look like a real khukuri. How 'bout a nice new panna butta with plastic grips with a chromed blade?

ooooohhhh, "CHROME BLADE". Gotta have me one of them. You know it's a funny thing, but, if you have been reading my posts on the other forums, you'll note that I HATE chromed blades even if done correctly, by Mad Dog knives.

The only thing the chrome is good for is to contain the Iron oxide powder that the steel blade will eventually turn into.

Gee COBALT, I thought it would be the wood grain simulated red and blue plastic handle (with compass attached) that would make you happy. chrome =COBALT as krypton =Superman, is that it?

Yes, John, it will go along with my plastic M-16 with the little orange plastic flame that flicks in and out when I press the trigger.

If it`s made by Matti Matell,it`s swell!Actually the problem with the X-M16`s,was the genious who decided to use up the surplus 30-06 powder. You handloaders can savvy this.

I didn`t know that there was a prize. The body language of the Mahoutma, help, suggests the khukri even if it is not clear.

Ghost and John, you guys can have the M-16's those finicky pieces of.... I'll take the late and great M-14(or todays version M1A1).

Love those pix guys. And by the way, I like my Israeli Desert Eagle .50 magnum, or my M-11-9mm sub gun, but this is a khukuri forum, and I know a khukuri won't jam ! "They don't even make noise, or ask to be fed"

I don't know, Jay. Will Kwan tells us he gets one of his khukuris jammed all the time.

FN49 in mint condit., w/ bayonet in cal 7x57(I'm in love); then M1A; then Natnl Match Garand; then Tanker Garand, but I keep M1 carbines for the car and truck. The Armalites? One to shoot, one for a spare, one spare for the spare.
Do you get the feeling I was into guns long before I got into knives?

I guess Will really puts his heart into it Bill, but If I get one of my khukuris jammed I won't complain.
