Personally I'll go with the magority vote on this and I do not want to limit the choice to a poll.

So far I have seen trappers, swing guards, whittlers, Dr., fixed utility/hunters and congress knives produced by Canal Street. (feel free to comment on other patterns you have seen from Canal Street.

By posting your preference in this thread, you are showing your serious intention to go in with us and purchase the knife at whatever price Canal Street sets + actual shipping costs to you. (unless the pattern voted for turns you off.)

Once we choose the pattern (majority takes it), we can gather the final participants.

Please do not vote if you will not be participating. If your pattern vote does not make it and the pattern is key to your decision (and that is perfectly OK.) please indicate that with your vote.

Let's give this a week or so, since a lot of folks may be vacationing. How about next Thursday morning for tallying the winning pattern.

I will say ring knife.
I will be in for whatever is chosen with two exceptions. I will need to bow out if the pattern is a whittler (already have a CSC whittler) or a fixed blade (I have plenty of those). Lets do this!

I am very interested in getting a Canal Steet knife. Everyone is saying the quality is so good. The swing guard pattern that was in the other thread looks interesting.

I also like the congress pattern. I would say, if they make us a knife and it is a decent price, I am in. Who knows, this may be the start of a whole new collection for me. As if I need any more knives.

Hunter or bowie style fixed blade for me, with a decent sheath. I would probably also go for a multi blade stockman. Other than that it is iffy, so I will say no to be on the safe side.

I am in, but only for a stockman...

Glenn

I like a good stockman with nice bone or stag handles. It would be nice to see some BG-42 steel used, too.

Equal end cattle knife, 3 5/8" or larger.
2nd choice, I'd settle for a stockman, as long as it's 3 5/8" or larger.
Real stag, or jigged bone (Green Bradford bone, like current Schatt&Morgans is nice stuff!) for handles.
How about a round shield on the pile side, opposite Canal Street's shield on the mark side, with "BF" stamped on it?? !!

Stockman sounds great, equal end cattle knife even better. I'm down for just about any pattern of slipjoint. Less interested if it's a fixed blade.

As for handle material, I prefer jigged bone or any kind of horn/antler. I'm not so crazy about bonestag, and I know they do a lot of that.

Bottom line, count me IN.

Hey: Been awhile since I've been around. Will go for anything but a folding hunter or stockman (already got them), unless they are MOP or Real Stag. I would really like a congress.
W.B.

My first choice would be the new ring opener when it's available, second choice is the swing guard, in stagged bone or real stag. Has Canal Street agreed to sell this way? They ordinarily like to go through a dealer which is fine with me and easier in the long run because no one here has to collect any funds. I went through this on another forum here on BF not long ago.

Lots of good choices.....

I'd love a twist ring knife...  ...as no one is making one that I know of, and they are quite cool.
I would consider a stockman, but not in stagged bone, or other faux material.

Bill

Count me in for anything except a fixed blade as long as it doesnt have synthetic (delrin, celluloid) handles. If the money is needed up front, that is ok by me, just let me know.

Thanks
Butch

If they need to go through a dealer I can work something out with Matthews or Tomway. (of course they will take a cut, but I will not.)

Keep in mind their reqular issue knives start around 100 and go up pretty quickly. Those ring folders are pretty cool.

I'm interested but it will really depend on price.

I can see price being a determining factor here. There is a bit of difference in full list and "street" price. "Street" price is the price it is being sold at on the street. This is a brand new company and a lot of people are interested in them. I am hoping we can get great knife at a resonable price.

A example of prices for Canal Cuterly from the some dealers:
