Canoe

Nukem and Blues,
Yes, I put a slicin' edge (about 15 deg. per side) on it with my edgepro, and it is truly one of the cuttin'est knives I've ever had.

Did someone say Canoe? Here's my only one. I bought this one years ago over a set of Cripple Creek blood brothers barlows.Doh! It is a nice knife though.

I just gave my Camillus Canoe to a good friend of mine who was pocketknife-less, imagine not having a pocket knife!

Nice one Steve. Almost got one of those myself at a local show back a spell.

Does this one count.. She's just a Baby, a Case Baby Butterbean pattern in smooth white bone.

Wow! I LIKE that! I'm keeping an eye open for one now...

Figured I'd bring this one back up to the surface again.

Since sending my only example to Arkansas, I've been up the traditional forum without a canoe!

Well, today I decided to change all that when I came across this 8 Dot (1972) Case 62131 which had been re-scaled with some nice stag by Case.

At less than the price of the current bone handled offerings and with only one backspring (as opposed to the current crop which have two), the temptation was greater than I could bear. ;)

Should hopefully be here in a few days to help me meander on down the river.

You'll be up the river in style now my brother. That is a sweet canoe.

Check your pockets frequently if Gus comes `round. :D

Thanks, brother. Can't wait to put in.

(I'll keep a close eye on that rascal, Gus, you betcha. ;))

Nice stag, at I assume a good price, Elliott! I like my canoes with a single backspring also. Just enough bulk so you know it's there, without weighing down your bermuda shorts!
Here's a nice D-2 Cocabola, just waitin' for an EDC turn, someday!

Great canoes folks! Here are a couple of canittlers and one canoe from the recently departed Camillus, it's a 130th anniv, knife that I believe was intro'd at Blade2006:

Yep, I think so, Charlie. Less than the price of the current Case offerings which come with the dual springs. Add in the stag and superior construction, fit and finish and I'm content.

I had a Queen canoe as well, but it seemed to prefer the waters of NW Arkansas more than those of western, NC. Go figure. ;)

Looks a tad sharper than when I last saw it, Ford.

(Love your "Breast Cancer Awareness" float! ;))

A good canoe will seek good current. ;)

I have in Amber Stage bone, it just happens to have found itself on the top of a dry mountain in Israel.
But every bit as sharp.

I have recently got from Queen a Canoe, Muskrat and a Congress.
I like the big blade, small blade on a single back spring.
And they all have such different blades!

But the Canoe has seen alot of pocket time.

Lol...

Does this one count?

Looks kinda like a canoe to me. Double lockback R.Rider. Just arrived today, couldn't find a USA made double lockback in moose style, and I don't mind a China knife that is as solid as a Case for 1/4 the price. :)

moose style...

Not really moose style since a moose would have a large clip and either a spey or spearpoint (depending on which definition of moose/texas jack you prefer).

Double-End is a more accuate description of knives which have blades opening from each end.

Then again, maybe I'm the one confused since you may have actually been looking for a double lock knife in moose style and only happened to settle for the double-end pictured above. :p
