Canoe?

Here's my Queen City! Great knife!

Absolutely beautiful!

Am I correct in thinking that is the Crimson Bone as opposed to the Red Bone?

I don't currently own a Gunboat... I want one bad though. That's a gorgeous knife.

Can I jump in and ask a question? I am wondering why a Gunboat cost so much more that a Canoe? When you compair prices from medium Stockmans and large stockmans, the price is not that much more. But to go from a Canoe, to a Gunboat the price doubles or more. I know it has one more blade, but that is a big difference. I would love a Gunboat but can't bring myself to spend that kind of money, not that I have that much to spend anyways.

I just picked up a nice Queen #64 amber bone canoe in D2 from knivesshipfree. Nice carry knife.

I just sent off for one (yesterday evening) fromnknivesshipfree too, and it may be the last one they had, because I no longer see it listed. Funny that I am seeing this thread, because I really love the design too. The D2 steel is what really swayed me. The price was almost crazy low at $50 shipped. I wonder if they are not being carried anymore? I can't wait to get it.

Seems like I have been on the constant search for an EDC, and I think I have finally found it.

Ask away! I've wondered about the cost jump myself. My Case Gunboat weighs almost double the Case Canoe, so material cost is about doubled, but that alone doesn't account for it. The rest is probably from the difference in production volume. I'm sure Canoes sell in higher volume than Gunboats, so production runs are higher volume too. More produced at a time, the less per-piece cost will be, and vice versa. They probably tack on a little extra too to foster a sense of premiumness (is that a word? :p)

FWIW though, the fit and finish on my Gunboat is noticeably better than the Canoe so I do think I got a little extra for my money in that respect too.

I got a nice pocket work case red bone canoe that I like. It really got me more interested in the canoe design. I just got this camco red bone(?) canoe...(Camillus?) but the small blade seems to have a bend in it. It looks nice though. Case makes a tangerine bone canoe that I'm looking for a good deal on right now also. I'll tell you I need to take a photography class after viewing some of the pics posted by other members......I'm lacking!

Anyway, here are some pics of my canoes.

The canoe style just reeks of class. Great knives gents. I will post a picture of my Queen when it comes in.

Beautiful Canoes. I will also post pictures when my 2 new Canoes come. I thought they would be here Monday, but he did not get them out till Monday. Should be here tomorrow. I hope. I got some birthday money so I just placed an order, but they are not Canoes this time.
