Recommendation? Can't seem to stick with a knife...

Kizer has some really nice ti flippers in my experience. I had a 560, was certainly a nice knife! Handle texture was a bit aggressive for me, I ended up selling her off. I found I like thinner blade stock on a utility knife.
I also prefer a thinner blade stock for general use and the heavier blade seems to be necessary for most flippers. The ZT that I really like is the 0770CF. I carry it from time to time, but lately I have been carrying a Steel Will Mini Cutjack and like it a lot.

The envoy I got is a small thin blade. Kizer nailed it on the detent, when you hit the flipper it really feels like an assisted opener. It proves small blades can flip good too :)

I always have liked rather large pocket knives, but hate carrying a brick in my pocket. Once I realized that I didnt like flippers my field really narrowed. Then I started to realize that I dont like thick, overly heavy blades. Then I realized I dont like thumbstuds. Then I tried a Spyderco PM2. It wasnt big enough. Then I tried a Spyderco Military and the stars aligned. Every now and then my eyes start to wander and I browse other stuff. But nothing even comes close to the military for me. I love that I can get different sprint runs to test different steels and materials. I dont even mind the tip down carry on it

General comment.... I seem to stick really well with a couple knives that I have grown accustomed to. But I still look at what's new and what's out there in general and will buy something new that might not be typical of my regulars. The Steel Will Mini Cutjack was just such a knife (something new) and (...drum beat...), it's a flipper and I got flippers out of my system years ago. Just goes to show you that when you're in the mood for something new, it usually happens. And I like it. The size is right for me as are the materials.

So, I understand completely buying new knives and trying them out frequently. The difference with me is that I never sell them, so they pile up.

Even though I have many, I find myself going back to a couple for EDC consistently.
I'm the same, most all my knives have been carried at least once when I first get them but many times that honeymoon phase is over in a day, then back to the same 4 or 5 I switch between for EDC.

What really keeps me with the 0560 is the superb action. Absolute finger guillotine, falls free and rockets out with just a slight push on the flipper.

That's what my ZT0562 was like. If you haven't tried one of those, definitely handle one when you have a chance.

Went from benchmade, to ZT with G10 on both sides, didn’t like the idea of G10 one side and titanium on the other. Then i tried the 562. Benchmades went away, ZT’s became dominant, then i tried the XM 18. The 562 stayed in the case till i sold it yesterday. XM 18 3” I rotate at work and 3.5 after hours. I have not bought another knife in 24hrs. Give me a little bit.

I have bought, traded and sold many knives. I learned after a lot of money, time, and aggravation what knives I prefer. Here are some of the things I learned, I lean toward medium size knives with thumb studs, smooth g10 scales, full liners, and the liner lock is my favorite locking mechanism. Needless to say, manufacturers like Al Mar and Ontario offer knives that appeal to me. It is trial and error, since the zt 0560 appeals to you, think about the features that attract you to it and try to recall things you did and didn't like about knives you had in the past and go from there.

I have a 0770CF/M390 that is a joy to operate. That said, I've never carried it, and am not likely to. It is just a hair too short for me to hold properly. I have had a goodly number of the 550/560 series, and although they are great knives, they are generally too heavy for my comfort.
My weight limit is 5 oz which allows a large Sebbie or Zaan, and I'm not happier with heavier than that, although MANY others are.
I do have a Steel Will Cutjack in D2 and it seems nice, but it hasn't made it out of my knife-box. Even though I like the initial feel and balance of the Italian-made knife, I fear that I'm a real snob. It just hasn't aroused enough interest that I want to carry it. Don't get me wrong...I've owned probably ten RAT 1's and 2's over the last few yrs, but tend to gift them rather than carry them.
As you mentioned, I'd love to see more general availability of thinner blade stock.. 3/32" or so, and am VERY tired of the almost-universal use of 1/8"...which has no interest for my casual use. And, give me a high hollow grind EVERY time and I'm happy.
To a large extent, I've "temporarily" settled on a cross-draw leather sheath with the Bradford Guardian 3 in M390. I've used one continuously for close to a year now, and it's a great knife...even if the 0.140" blade-thickness won't come close to slicing an apple.
I do have a special blade coming one of these days...a thinner, high hollow-ground S!K GSO 2.7. It's a shame, though, that the darned thing will cost me in excess of $400, not counting the custom leather sheath, when the company could have produced what I wanted for half of that.
I certainly hope that I'm content with that blade, as I will NEVER be able to retrieve my initial investment back from that custom. Ah well, one must do what one must do...dammit!

This is pretty much my go to's nowadays. My Izula is always on me as well.
I have dozens of folders that collect dust.

WE has some flippers in their value line for $100.00. They are very nice with great designs. If you really like TI Kizer has a ton of all TI folders. I just bought a Kizer V3 Vigor from Blade HQ TI framelock With G-10 Scale and S35VN for $70.00. It's discontinued but still readily available. Good quality at decent prices.

For me, I don't think I will ever find the perfect knife that I will stick with. Even if I can somehow afford to have one entirely custom-made for me, I'll probably be hitting myself over the head for some of the design choices down the road after using it extensively. I rotate through my knives, but not all of them. I only carry the ones I trust my life with. Keeps life interesting. As for the rest of the knives, I rotate through them for use within and around the home. I try to use 'em all.

So unfortunately, I cannot recommend anything, because we all develop our own personal preferences over time and lots of collecting. But someone did mention earlier on to stick to the classics, and I agree, two of my everyday-carry knives are classics - Spyderco Endura 4 and full-sized Benchmade Griptilian.

Heck I prefer it tip down. It is the perfect large folder. I’m going to be in trouble if they come out with CPM-3V.

Just cause your on a diet doesn’t mean you can’t like look at the menu. I stumbled onto a mini-grip in M4 70% off street price that way. Thank goodness for the For Sale forums.

I've been through so many knives it's not funny. Look at my iTrader ratting. I love the 0560. One I will never part with. Other zts on that level for me is the 0452cf and the 0562cf. But like has been said, you won't know until you try.

Agree with Craytab. If there are only three ZTs that I can keep, they will be 0562cf, 0452cf, and 0560/1 (and I have tried 0620cf, 0630, 0801, 0909, and 0200).

After you try a few, you should be able to figure out exactly what you like and want in a knife. Then it's just finding a knife that fits as closely to that criteria as you can find. If you're truly lucky then you'll find THE one that checks all the boxes for you. Thanks to the Benchmade Bugout I've found my one and am good to go :)
