Recommendation? Can't seem to stick with a knife...

Agree with Craytab. If there are only three ZTs that I can keep, they will be 0562cf, 0452cf, and 0560/1 (and I have tried 0620cf, 0630, 0801, 0909, and 0200).
Yup. And I've had the 200 twice, 30X twice, 801 twice, and a 550 that was hard to let go of but the 0560 got carried over it way more.

I just cant seem to find alot of knives that I truly like and want to stick with. Is it just me?

Most knives I am able to stick with. I just use the pointy end and poke. (You'd think someone called "mcshank" would have figured that out.)

Seriously, it might not seem like it, but there are knives other than titanium frame lock flippers being made. Maybe you can't
find one you like because you don't really like them.

Try a slipjoint or a "world knife" like a Laguiole or something. Try a Buck 110! Okapi! Opinel!

There is more to the knife world than an endless string of anonymous titanium frame lock flippers.

="P2P, post: Heck I prefer it tip down. It is the perfect large folder. I’m going to be in trouble if they come out with CPM-3V.

Tip down is the only way for the Military. It works PERFECTLY that way.

As for a 3V military!!! Thats my dream folder. Take the 52-100 sprint run’s carbon fiber liner handle and run a 3V blade at 59-60 and you have my money 3 times over! Or 3V in the KW CF/TI frame lock! Either one would kick ass. Ide like it with a stonewashed blade too. Finished like the slyz bowie stonewash.

Lol! I've looked at a few slip joints and none of them really call to me. One of the reasons im really attracted to flipper framelocks is the fidget factor to them. I can sit and watch a show and have something to do with my hands. I also love my mini grip for that reason too.

OK. Seems odd that a knife you just "fidget" with could have "bad ergonomics," but I don't really fidget with my knives.

How about a butterfly knife?

Thats not the sole reason I like them it is just one of the attributes that I love about them. Its always good to have something that you carry everyday serve more than one purpose :)

How about a SAK and a fidget spinner?

I got a few Kizer knives, and was extremely impressed!! They are really well priced on Massdrop at times too!!

A Real Steel Sea Eagle is awesome for a budget flipper! Super smooth and solid.

My all time favorites are Ferrum Forge Fortis, and Archbishop. But they are harder to find now and higher priced than the other two I mentioned. But, they are awesome!

I recently got a Protech Rockeye in CPM D2. It is amazing! Protechs are always great, and the CPM D2 is icing on the cake. It is so user friendly, PT has a great HT, very good edge holding, and blade geometry. The ergos on that knife are good too.

There's nothing wrong with having a rotating selection of knives. It keeps things new and fresh, and it's like having multiple little Christmases throughout the year. I see it kind of like renting them - you pay a down payment, and then you pay for the time and usage when you sell it later. Because knives keep most of their material value, it won't cost you much - especially if you get them already used.

You want recommendations? Just try everything that even remotely appeals to you. Seriously. Hunt around for deals and pick them up on the cheap when you can. If I were to make specific recommendations, my experiences with Stedemon knives has so far been that they have detents and pivot smoothness down perfectly. Even their budget knives are a dream to operate.

My real recommendation for getting the most out of a flipper: Get Nano Oil (made by St Claire) and put a drop on either side of the pivot, and definitely make sure to put a drop on the detent ball. You would be amazed how much of a difference a lubricated detent ball makes.

I agree with others who say to just keep trying knives that appeal to you. I went through probably 25 or so folders to find 3 or 4 that I wanted to carry.

Thanks for the replies guys. I have a few im looking into now :) Feel free to keep it going though, can never have too big a list!

Welcome to the support group. "People who kinda know what they want, but are also sorta looking at other stuff, dunno" Lots of good advice so far. Getting your hands on some of the classics, and even trying to get knives without the features you think you want to see if they actually matter. For example, I gained a new love of SAKs when I moved to australia because I can't generally just EDC a locker without reason. (work, fishing, hiking all good reason, grocery shopping.... notsomuch) But I learned I don't NEED a one-handed locker. But I sure do like them, and the week after the import law changed I grabbed a few (ones from storage at home, and new) but, I can still just drop a SAK in the pocket and call it good. I also picked up a spyderco Roadie and Pingo during that time, and love them both. So you never know what will "stick" even pointless knives! (couldn't help it!)

I've had many many Benchmade and spydercos and so on... and always had my eye on the Chris reeve large sebenza 21. I own 6 other sebenzas since then and still I only really carry that plain jane large 21. Damn good knife. That's that

I really like titanium flipper frame locks, one knife that has stuck around is my ZT 0560, I cannot get enough of it. All of the other knives I have tried seem to fall flat, be it poor flipping action or bad ergonomics or what have you.
With that being said, can you guys give any recommendation as to what I should try?
I'm convinced that constantly browsing, researching and discussing knives like most of us here are prone to do breeds contempt for the knives we currently own. You begin to value the knife or knives that you have less than the idea of the next one. Unless you're lucky enough to be able to constantly throw money at a collection, you'll have to sell one or two that you already have to fund the next one.

I resent the behavior in myself quite a bit, yet here I am. I have lost a bit of weight recently though, perhaps I should reward myself with a new knife. :p
