Can't think of a clever SNARK thread title, Snark thread.

Never thought I'd say this, but I'm feeling "Glocky". What do you think I should start with, a 19?

The 19 is as good as any. I have a 17 and wish I had gotten a 19 instead. If you are a fan of pocket guns, check out the 42.

19mm handguns are remarkably difficult to control. I would advise going for the 9mm or 45ACP... ammo's a lot easier to find, anyway.

In other news... pretty bizarre for a WI boy like me to be harvesting fresh vittles in December... not that I'm complaining...

That's the last of it for the outdoor stuff this season. Can't wait till Spring...

The rifle is an AR that I built myself in 300BLK (or 300 AAC Blackout, if you prefer). The lower is registered as a short-barreled rifle and was made with a DS Arms lower, standard lower parts kit, Geissele Super-Tricon trigger, and VLTOR E-MOD stock. The upper is a 10.5" Palmetto State Armory CHF (machine gun steel) barrel with pistol length gas system, a free-float hanguard,NP3-coated bolt carrier group from DS Arms, and an AAC 51T flash suppressor. The suppressor (some would say "silencer") is an AAC 762-SDN-6. Also have a Streamlight TLR-1 Game Spotter (green LED) light mounted on top of the barrel and a Leupold VX-R 2-7X Firedot scope.

so, what you're saying is "off the shelf" mostly :D

That's a nice saw set there Joe.

danku. goes well with the nice two-person felling saw that it came with

also got a two-person bucking saw

and a one-person saw

and a deer saw

and ... two hatchets

and a plane in a pear tree

good day

personally, i'd suggest the Springfield XDM series in 5.25 inch barrels...

if those fit you, then good. i like them a lot. 9mm, .40, or .45 easy peasy

i has a glock. it's one of the odd-ball rare ones model 34 in 9 mm. green :D it's been tricked out for target/idpa. it's good.

springfield and steyr are just better at the same game, for me.

Asking handgun advice on a interwebz forum is like... well... asking any other sort of advice on interwebz forums. Keep asking long enough, and eventually you'll get the advice you wanted in the first place.

:p

So whats the next knife i should buy??

Ill just wait until someone says BK16 or Parangatang :D

I may have a benchmade griptillian and Becker remora coming soon. Im trading some custom beads for them. The guy was looking for beads, im happy to oblige LOL

Even though no matter how hard i try i just cant get into folders.... The beads just sit in a box so why not. Its quite possible ill end up trading that folder for a fixed blade... Like many other folders that have passed through here.

Its not even 10 yet and im feeling sleepy... Im turning into one of you "sleeping folks" Already did my push-ups and sit-ups for the night. I think its MC Hammock time.

Remora's are great

Went out to dinner to night with some buddies. Great for my self esteem . One of them just got divorced, another is contemplating it, another is having fertility issues. I have the best wife in the world, and have 3 kids. :foot: Feeling very blessed right now.

Time to head to the garage and increase the smile on my face.

Off the shelf, out of a drawer or box, that sort of thing... I am a halfway decent "gun plumber", which is pretty much all it takes to put together an AR.

Of the two I am familiar with (G17 and G19), I prefer the G19, so I would think that would be a good start. Although there is merit in Bladite's love of the Springfield XD(m).

The glock 19 is a great starter. Depends on what other guns you already have and what you want it for. You can get a police trade-in G22 for just a hair over $300 plus shipping, transfer, and all that.

I'm still predicting that 40 S&W is a fad... I'm sure you've heard it called 40 "short and wimpy"... I've always thought it was a compromise that wasn't executed particularly well. Although my brother-in-law, a County Sheriff, loves his G22 and says the G35 makes a good shooter into a great shooter.

I have a 30sf, and a 27...

Nice handguns, not 1911's but still nice

Doc

I've also heard that the G30sf was the G30 "short fingers"... :D

I've read some negative things about longterm durability of the various XD pistols. Now, this is in regards to use as a duty pistol where the user will be shooting thousands of rounds a year training for life-and-death situations. That, and the fact the grip safety must be depressed to work the slide is a ding.

I've never got on the .40 bandwagon but it is an effective round. I prefer 9mm myself.

The only guy I've ever met that thinks the Glock SF/ gen4 frames are too small is 6' 6" and built like a redwood.

I like and carry a 17. I like glocks. They are stout and there are a bunch of things you can do to them. Plus I can make you a custom holster for a glock too. ;)
