Can't think of a clever SNARK thread title, Snark thread.

I've read some negative things about longterm durability of the various XD pistols. .

If you have read negative things about XD but not glocks you been reading selectively. There are articles on top of articles on top of articles of negative things about glocks, If you search the web you can find negative and positive things about ANYTHING.

That being said.... Morning heads :D

Just watched "Blood and Bone" ..... AGAIN. Love that movie.

Never back down 2 is also an excellent movie. Michael Jai White is a beast.

Time to go to the post office.

Morning WW.

For some reason I didn't sleep too well last night. I'm thinking ingesting 3lbs of chicken wings + a few beers didn't help. Woke up to take the boy to school, now I feel like getting back in bed. Decisions decisions.

Mike, thanks for the assist, I'll just text him. I just wasn't sure if anyone from the overnight/international crew had the info.

Kid, nice try but you'd kill yourself with these blades.

Stayed up too late last night. I got sucked in to "A visual guide to winter squash" and couldn't turn it off.

Good thing it wasn't succulent summer squash. They'd have found your body, pants down and the Saran Wrap still covering your face.

Just look at those curves.

Never said I never read of problems with Glocks. Reliability issues with the early gen 4's are well documented as well as brass-to-face. And I've even read about problems with M&P's. Despite that, the Glocks and M&P's get LE contracts and are recommended by respected industry professionals and instructors, which is rarely the case for the XD.

Morning bud!!

Looks like you didnt go back to bed LOL :D

Got the Hex Hawks headed to JD to be sheathed and got my secret santa gift headed out. They do a secret santa thing on another forum im apart of. Pretty cool i think. I tried the idea on the swamp rat forum last year but only 2 other people were interested in participating, so i exchanged gifts with both... But never got the gift from one of em. Oh well, cant win em all.

Post office's computers were down and they couldnt take credit/debit cards today.. So i had to leave there and find an ATM machine. Found one not too far away, but in 27° weather 50 feet would of been more than i wanted to go LOL

I just can't pass up these little hatchets. Marbles has come out with a nice one for $15. Sharp, well ground and a great little splitter/chopper.

NO... My wife told me to take the baby because she wanted to start on changing bed sheets and doing laundry. 15 min later I hear heavy snoring through the baby monitor, she total ditched me with the kids and is upstairs passed out! Looks like she beat me too it :( I'll go later when she wakes up haha!

My kids just asked me for a snack. I tested out my 4 EDC blades for cutting performance on a salami!

Conclusion: BK11 and 0562 were the best slicers. I could make pieces so thin I could see through them. The 0801 was right behind making some really thin cuts. The 0121 just is not meant for slicing lunch meats ;) It works, but the blade is obviously designed for other purposes :D.

Oh the fun I have while at home with the kids!

But do they cut the MUSTARD??

Even an overly thick blade will make very thin surface slices if properly sharp and applied carefully. After all, even a lathe bit makes very fine surface cuts, and those are so thick they don't resemble knives at all. The real test is how easily they cut THROUGH something that is thick on both sides. Try going right through the middle of an apple, for instance. I think you'll be lucky if even the BK11 makes it through without breaking the halves apart.

Besides, apples and salami taste great together. Cheese too. You've got your work 'cut' out for you. ;)

I've also heard that the G30sf was the G30 "short fingers"... :D

Yeah, well it's just a bit slimmer for better concealed carry. Not to mention, there ain't but one thing on my body that's short... And it ain't my fingers.

Doc

If you go all the way THROUGH an apple wont it have to break/cut the 2 halves apart? I really dont get what you mean on that.. Explain please so i can go try it LOL

No apples, but i do have potatoes and onions.

A good crisp granny smith is quite brittle. A knife with thick stock or a thick grind (saber, for instance) will CUT into it, but then the rest of the apple will split by the prying action - effectively batonning the apple to pieces rather than cutting through. By contrast, a proper paring knife made out of very thin stock (1/16" or so) with a FFG will CUT all the way through, leaving clean surfaces.
