Buddy of mine just gave me this today. Hes given me all sorts of random stuff from his work. But this one he says/thinks its a kevlar/carbon fiber type mix. Anyone ever see something like this? Its extremely heavy and hard. Regardless of what it is, I will be cutting it up for some scales... :D

The colors a little off for what I like but it grinds nice, and looks pretty sweet at 800 grit..

That's awesome. I hope to cut it up and get 2 sets of scales from it but, well see.

It's ballistic material , Kevlar / glass ....... easy to work but only with hand tools , metal file and sandpaper ...itches a lot, wear gloves

Thanks Natlek. That's pretty much identical to my slab. Did You dye it on those handles, or is that just oiled?

Just be aware that EVERY bit of dust and swarf from cutting and sanding is a severe irritant. It will make you itch as well as be very bad if you breathe it. The whole shop area must be thoroughly vacuumed and cleaned after sanding. Wash your hands and take a shower after working it.

If you have kids or pets that come in contact with the shop area, I would not suggest using it.

Thanks Stacy. I will be running the vacuum and be wearing my mask and shop jacket. Kids rarely are in there so I will be cautious.

I think it looks cool as hell

...I dare you to snort some of it... :D
