Carbon Fiber Stretch II

I think I've got my self a new EDC to rotate with a Strider SnG and Calypso Jr
Same clip as the D4/E4?

I despise the V-shaped jimping! I got a full-sized Manix with that jimping and got rid of it just because of the the jimping. I was considering the Stretch, as well, until I saw that it also had that jimping.

I know that you have to accomodate the majority with your designs, but please don't convert all of your knives (esp. anything in the Calypso line).
Am I missing something?
Unless he's saying he prefers an smooth choil to a jimped one, or no jimping at all, I'm just as confused as you, Dan. That might be the case, since the Calypso and all the various versions of the Calypso Jr. have no jimping. Neither my Manix nor any of my Stretches, including the new CF Stretch II, have the fine V shaped jimping on the ramp.

Yes, and IIRC, the Adventura one should work if you prefer a silver clip.

Am I missing something? Only place the Stretch or the new Stretch II have the small V shaped jimping is on the choil. Both have the step style jimping on the ramp. Don't recall ever seeing a Spyderco with any other style of jimping on choils, it's been either small V or nothing. For that matter, the only Manixes I've seen also have the "step" style jimping on the ramp.

Gentlemen,

I apologize for the confusion. I like the jimping on the choil (apparently the V-shaped jimping). The jimping that I so strongly dislike is the 'step style' jimping on the thumb ramp (which is what I thought Sal was describing by 'V-shaped' jimping).

To correct myself, I like the V-shaped jimping on the choil, but I dislike the stepped jimping on the thumb ramp.

thanks for the comparison pix Paul....... I need a Stretch2..... but that Lignumvitae Stretch is equally tempting...

Hi Paul,

I agree. That's how we would do it. Just replace the scales with FRN & use VG-10. Probably go to the smaller jimping on the spine as well.

sal

Sal, if you deside to go with a FRN/VG-10 version, how long would it take to reach the streets?

At least a year?

I've got a big hand, and alot of these great zdp's get lost in my hand ----- as far as I know the endura 4 zdp was the largest made ..... is anything else coming out soon that is a little larger??

With all this talk about the new Stretch II, I've started carrying my original Stretch again. What a great design. I had forgotten how much I liked it.
