Unless he's saying he prefers an smooth choil to a jimped one, or no jimping at all, I'm just as confused as you, Dan. That might be the case, since the Calypso and all the various versions of the Calypso Jr. have no jimping. Neither my Manix nor any of my Stretches, including the new CF Stretch II, have the fine V shaped jimping on the ramp.Am I missing something?I despise the V-shaped jimping! I got a full-sized Manix with that jimping and got rid of it just because of the the jimping. I was considering the Stretch, as well, until I saw that it also had that jimping.
I know that you have to accomodate the majority with your designs, but please don't convert all of your knives (esp. anything in the Calypso line).
Yes, and IIRC, the Adventura one should work if you prefer a silver clip.Same clip as the D4/E4?
Am I missing something?Only place the Stretch or the new Stretch II have the small V shaped jimping is on the choil. Both have the step style jimping on the ramp. Don't recall ever seeing a Spyderco with any other style of jimping on choils, it's been either small V or nothing. For that matter, the only Manixes I've seen also have the "step" style jimping on the ramp.

Hi Paul,
I agree. That's how we would do it. Just replace the scales with FRN & use VG-10. Probably go to the smaller jimping on the spine as well.
