The more I think about the Stretch2, the more I can't wait to get my hands on one. The blade shape is very similar to the Spyderco Starmate's, which was one of my favorite Spyderco ever. With the full flat grind this should be a terrific all-around blade.
The CF and ZDP are top notch (although I'd be just as happy with G-10 and VG-10 - especially at the lower price.) The SS liners and the steel lock/backspacer will provide strength and that bit of heft I like.
The standard clip (no wire clip!) and the handles drilled and tapped for all four positions is nice. The clip mounted high on the handle for deeper carry is sweet, too.
The handle shape looks to be much more comfortable than the Starmate, and the lockback is my favorite Spyderco lock. Simple, strong, and consistent. The knife should be fairly thin as well, making for easier carry.
One of the best things about the Stretch is how thin it is from the top blade spine to the back spine when closed. This is one of my biggest dislikes about some Spyderco designs. The Manix is almost two inches wide from top to bottom spines when closed, while the Starmate, Military, and Endura are all about 1.5" or less from spine to spine. The wider the knife is when clipped to my front pocket, the harder it is to get other things out of the same pocket without removing the knife. Since I clip my knives to the same pocket in which I carry my Seecamp pistol, I never carry my Manix. :grumpy: The Stretch should eliminate that problem.
This knife appears to have all of my favorite attributes of Spyderco knives in a single package.
I guess that was a long-winded way of saying, "Hurry up and build the damn thing, Sal!"

I can't wait to get one.
