With regards to the OP's original question. I do think that CF will come down marginally in price, at least until a new material comes out. I'm not enmoured with it like some people but I do think textured CF looks and works well. Personally, I would like to see linen or canvas Micarta make a comeback... I've never had any issues with CF but while using it or carrying I'm always afraid of damaging it because it "feels" like expensive, high end material.

I own or have owned, a grand sum of 0 knives with CF (due to price and not really caring that much from a practical standpoint....not really a collector, per se.)

That being said, I think that it will become a pretty standard material. As it gets used in more and more applications, the cost will come down....which will make it even more attractive as a material........which will lead to it becoming more popular on cheaper stuff. I'll buy it then. It's functional right now, but it only comes on high $$ knives, and I'm not really into super high $$ folders.
