Was wondering what everyone's chosen career is.

Odd question, but we all share a fondness for knives, so it got me thinking how our career paths might be somewhat similar as well. Sorry if this has been asked.

I have been working in construction for 11 years ,I have been collecting and useing knives for 28 years .By the way I am 34.

Oh. Yea.

28, was a designer for 2 years, got laid off, now back in college for Criminal Justice. Not sure of the path I will choose at graduation time (spring)...

Corporate communications, soon to be high school biology teacher. I can't stand the ineptitude and inequity in corporate America. Nor the meetings. I'm hoping I can at least make learning fun for kids and try to get them on the right path in life.

Oh yeah, I'm 28. Uggghhhh.....getting old.

64-involuntary retirement-job outsourced-Facilities Maintenance-trying to reinvent myself

I'm a "professional" laborer.
Currently a supervisor but moving on to the ground crew at a telephone pole/railroad production and treatment plant with the intentions of going to school as a Power Engineer.

police dept. 6 years infantry before that. i am 29 now. i have been into knives since i was about 6 i think. when dad would get me a new knife he would make me go out and rub the blade on concrete for to dull the shit out of it so i couldn't hardly cut anything with it. then around he started letting me keep them sharp around 8 or so

Federal Contractor - currently Embassy security. I'm 28 spent 8 years in the Army, seen more of Iraq than some Iraqis. There is a lot more but in a nutshell, I got out of the Army in 2008 and have been working for whichever security company will pay me the most.

I was a filmmaker... now I'm just unemployed and not quite sure what to do with myself.

I'll be 34 next week.

31. Carpenter from 17-22, then four years Army Infantry. Should've realized that wasn't a skillset in high demand in the civilian world. Went back to carpentry after the Army, but haven't really had steady work in two years. Going back to school in January, unless Jeff and Mike decide to take over a small country in SA before then, in which case I'll sign on with them.

Paramedic since '97 before that 10 years Army Infantryman before that I was a kid. Not really a knife nut so much as a lover of good tools. Be 43 in a few months.

I've worked in the Land Surveying field for the last 11 years now. Before that I was pretty much a young punk with no sense of direction whatsoever. Now that I'm older (32), atleast I know my way back and forth from work. :D
