Mother's safety is the most important. I imagine how bad moments you're living. Won't do much, but believe you're in my thoughts.Got a call early this morning and my granddaughter Kelsey was 6 months pregnant started hemorrhaging and lost the baby and is very sick they believe Kelsey will be okay she is stable but she is all to pieces emotionally. A very hard time for my family would appreciate your thoughts and prayers for my granddaughter. I'm stuck here and getting info over the phone not being able to drive is tough during something like this. Sorry to unload this here but I had to tell someone and so many of you are like an extended family to me I thought it would be okay.
Not in France, but we have a few othersIsn't Good Friday a public (paid) holiday in most Christian societies?
That's a good "poll question" Will... I've never had Good Friday as a paid holiday previous to my current job and I am in the engineering field here. I believe the banks and post offices are open as usual here in the U.S. That's usually a good indicator.Isn't Good Friday a public (paid) holiday in most Christian societies?
Not necessarily, Will. It should be. It is not in the county in which I live, but it is in the county where I work. It is not considered a State or Federal holiday. But banks around here usually close at noon on Good Friday and are closed on Holy Saturday. Some restaurants also close, especially the Mexican restaurants. I work for the county government in an adjacent county, and the County Commissioners have declared that Good Friday is a holiday for all county employees.Isn't Good Friday a public (paid) holiday in most Christian societies?
Well, some of us do. Not trying to start anything, and I do believe in the First Amendment. Hope you have a great weekend!BTW, I hope nobody thinks of American society as a Christian society.
I will walk on eggshells.Let's make sure this doesn't trend into a religious discussion folks.
I remember a time when most companies recognized Good Friday as a holiday. In the last few decades there were changes and Good Friday wasn't as recognized as a holiday by many companies.
I know the last major corporation I worked for allowed each employee a few "floating holidays" that could be used at the employee's discretion. It was their way of not showing any favoritism to any particular religious group.
