Thanks cnas! The picture of that old Scout brings back wonderful memories.
My Dad was a die hard International fan right up til they quit making them.
I can't tell you how many hunting and fishing adventures we shared runnin around in his Scouts when I was growing up.I can remember at least 4 diffferent ones through the years.
My Grandmother always called them jeeps and it bugged the crap out of me when I was little. Its a Scout Mom Mom! I'd always correct her and my Dad would just laugh.

Charlie, my brother in laws brother in law had this one willed to him from his uncle. either his uncle or grandfather raced it back in the day.Thought you might enjoy it.

I made a batch of fresh salsa yesterday, anyone else make it in the summer? Took some in progress pictures. Roma Tomatoes and jalapenos from my garden, but needed a few more peppers from the store, and a can of crushed tomatoes.

fixins.jpg

First gather all the fixins. My grocery had some gigantic jalapenos.

skin_smash.jpg

Boil tomatoes for easy skin removal, hit em with the tater masher, and a couple pulses in the blender.

pepperslice.jpg

Pepper time, have to remove some of the seeds and veins, where the heat lives

peppersticks.jpg

A trusty rapala filet knife is good for the slicing, sweat coming off back of neck now. Not a good time to touch any spot on the body...

stirredup.jpg

Stir in Vidalia onions, garlic, snip in the cilantro, and add the spices and liquids. I added lemon juice, vinegar, sugar, salt and some Mexican spices.

Sampling time, with one more Blue Moon.

jaritup.jpg

A few final adjustments and in to the jars. A little more than 8 cups. Sure beats the stuff made in "New York City".

What is it Steve? Did you go for a spin? I like the V8 ornament on the crossbar between the head lamps. Nice touch! Do you know what kind of racing he did with it back in the day? I dig the "yellow knife" paint color and the woodpecker decal too.

That Salsa looks good! The bonus being all the knife work that goes into the prep! ;)

It's a 30 something Ford.32 I think. Waynorth could probably tell you more. Thewres a link to an article about his grandfather I'll try to get the link from my brother in law. I've never driven it, or driven in it. He's thinking about putting a crate motor in it. I think he's crazy.

I'm going to go eat some salsa and chips now. I'm hungry after looking at the food you made up.Looks delicious

The woodpecker decal is the trademark of "Mr. Horsepower" the late Clay Smith, he died in the 50's.

Thanks JB - I think I've seen it as a tattoo on a few old boys.

Walter Lantz (creator of Woody Woodpecker) and Clay had an agreement to use the woodpecker in their respective markets. Clay's company is still in business.

It's a 32, sure as I sit here. 31 and 33 had slightly different grilles.

Steve, that's a '32 alright, and it's got a flathead mill in it.
A real classic street & strip machine; it sits "just right"!
I wouldn't change it at all. If it's innards are as they should be, it'll "walk a thunderbird like she's standing still!"!!
Worth 25 custom knives by Tony Bose! Easily!
