I've been thinking I need an alox Swiss Army Seven, but I have three of these, which are pretty close. I think the can-opener would substitute for an awl better than the awl would substitute for a can-opener.

Like many of us here, when I go out for a hike, I take a camera with me, but I also carry one in my pocket when I head into town, a lot of the time. I know I could take photos on my phone, and I do that sometimes too, but I like having a camera with me, just in case I see something funny or interesting. I posted a few of these random photos last year, so thought I'd do the same again. Wishing everyone a very happy 2022, and thanks for all the warmth and camaraderie here on The Porch

Boat update:

I was out of town for a little over a week for Christmas, and in that time they managed to move the boat from the boat ramp to… well, about 100 feet from the boat ramp.

At this rate they may make it to wherever they’re planning on storing it just in time for ice-out in the spring.
