Sorry to hear you're playing hide-and-seek with those 4 knives, especially the fascinating Galeam French knife with the vintage NOS blade. I hope one or more of the hiding knives runs for home base soon! What do I have hidden where I can't find them? My Lammi puukko, my Case Carhartt large stockman, my 8" Solingen Olsen Bowie, my galeam French friction folder,... Maybe that's all.
That's not so bad.

I've been missing my old curved Russell Barlow for a couple of months!! I don't remember ever taking it out of my knife room - (yes I have a dedicated room!)!! I've searched every drawer, cigar box and roll!! Where the heck is it???![]()

Good for both of you, Carl!! The next lesson is saving part of one's wages!!My daughter is 15 and wants a summer job. I took her in today to a factory shop that I used to work at 15 years ago, and she met with the management for an "interview". I still kept in contact with the owners, and know a handful of the employees who still work there. I already had done a lot of the legwork to get her in and iron out the details, but it was good for her to go through the official process. Sort of bittersweet to see your kid not being a kid anymore. I've expressed a lot about making a commitments and honoring your word. This is not fun or glamorous work, but she'll be earning twice the hourly wage most of her friends will be making at their jobs.

It's the top one in this picture!!
For sure. The plan is 1/3 gets put away for savings for after she is 21. 1/3 is short term savings for a big ticket item she wants (probably a car for when she is 16), and 1/3 is for summer fun.Good for both of you, Carl!! The next lesson is saving part of one's wages!!![]()
Good work ethic learned at a young age will serve her well in the future. It will also be a good thing for comparing future jobs to this one looking back.My daughter is 15 and wants a summer job.
