Carl
Hold the wagons...the hundred year storm is on us:eek: I'm inches from flooding! Bailing as fast as I can. You will be headed right into it...be safe

Ah man, too late!

We're halfway between KNoxville and Nashville at a Comfort Suites for the night. Heading out in the morning to Nashville, Memphis, LIttle Rock and Texarkana. Just easing it along in the big yellow Penske truck, which is no ball of fire on the road. I don't know if they have a governor on it, or just cheaper put and put a small engine in the thing to save a few bucks.

Anyways, due to the weather, we could hold up in Texarkana for a day to see what the weather is gonna do.

Safe travels Carl! Being a larger guy, I am not a fan of V6 engines. If I can have a V8, even a small V8 like my single cab, I'll take that over a V6 any day.

Hold up for the day, let that weather roll through. I'd rather see Arkansas...

Hope you stayed dry El Gev! ;)

Safe travels Carl, thanks for sharing your latest adventure with us :)

Looking forward to reading your tale Randy

I've had such a busy week that I've barely had a chance to visit The Porch. I had to sack off my Saturday walk today, just so I can catch up in the house, and with my emails, etc!

Safe travels indeed, Carl. Welcome to Texas. :)
Drought occasionally interrupted by flash floods.

Happy Halloween, everyone!

Kris, I'll be thinking of you guys and sending best wishes today. I'm hoping for a rally from Conner. Best friends don't come along every day.

What a tough road, Kris. I'm with Gary in thinking of you and hoping for a rally.

Hope not Kris, thinking of you pal

Kris
Conner knows how much he is loved:D

Kris I hope Conner just has a flu bug and get's healthy soon. Keep us informed, our thoughts are with you.

Thanks for the kind words folks. I think Conner had a stroke through the night, he can't move his right side of his body or head. It is a very tough day for our family, I am at a loss of what to do. We have hiked and climbed more than 5,000 miles together, always by my side in the wilderness. I hope he can go on his own terms.

Climbing in Hyalite with my friend Dylan, Dylan once saved Conner from going under a frozen river near Cody, Wy, he grabbed his scruff right before he was about to be sucked under the ice.

Conner loved car rides, especially in my old 69 VW

My best friend and all around amazing malamute, Conner, is not getting up today(this has never happened) and is not eating. I fear this is the end of the road for my big friend.:sorrow:

Kris, I'm so sorry to hear about this. But I'm glad you have lots of memories of good times.

I hope he can go on his own terms.
So do I.

So sorry to here of your friends condition!!!!

I've lost a few canine friends over the years, and in some ways it's harder to lose than a human friend. Dogs are Gods gift to mankind. Of all the animals on the planet, the dog is the only one who works willingly with man, and gives totally unconditional love. If humans acted more like dogs, it would be a better planet. Prayers sent your way.

good looking pup.
I hope his passing is painless for him and sincere condolences to you and the family.

That's a very sad story and awfull moments. Thank you for the beautiful pictures. Not everybody has the chance and luck to enjoy such places.

Kris, I am truly saddened to hear that your friend is not doing well. You and your family are in the thoughts and prayers of mine. You have my number and I am always here for you my friend, as you have been for me in a recent trying time.

Kindest regards, Chris

A dogs life is far to short. Very sorry to read about your ailing friend. You were both lucky to have each other.

I really appreciate the kind words, thank you. I will have to bring Conner in Monday morning to put him down and cremate his body, so I can spread his ashes in some of our favorite hiking spots. Cleopatra is a sad dog today.

Conner June's last outing a few weeks ago, he couldn't hike very far but enjoyed laying in the creek, as he always did.
