Carothers and Guns

Last time I was back at the cabin my buddy talked me into swapping the stock hs precision with one of his fancy chassis things. It would be "fun" and "look cool". I did like the addition of a magazine rather than the floorplate but didn't care for the pistol grip or anywhere comfortable to put my thumb. Plus the aluminum just felt off somehow. It was also a little trickier getting the rear to rest nicely on a bag. Back to the stock stock it goes.

I like the new chassis, FWIW! Nothing wrong with the old one either. I know what you mean about no where good to rest your thumb! 👍

Nice scope, too!!

EDC1 on top? Beautiful!!!!

Looks like you’re winning, no matter the combination!! 🤩

I like the chassis in general, but I'll pass on the vertical grip - I prefer some angle to it. I'd imagine it isn't hard to swap.
Folding stock?
Super easy, just the two action screws. The gun he had it on is a r700 clone (defiance action I think?) so my action/barrel dropped right in. It is a folding stock which for me doesn't really serve a purpose. I suppose for backcountry excursions where you can just stow it in your backpack it'd be pretty handy.

Seen a lot of trusts take 30 ish days, regardless of amount of responsible people on the trust

I did a form 4 last week using mine

It seems to be such a crap shoot. I'm the only one on the trust (for now), my name isn't common, and I've held a DOD security clearance. Even though it's my first, you would think it would still be a slam dunk. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I got a UPIN years ago to help my NFA checks (after Sandyhook and checks were taking 12+ months) and it’s never helped me even though ATF said it would help the FBI process the background check

Typical government efficiency
