Carpenter Para 2 is out!!!

anyone else hav any other online site to place an order, been rocking my s90v this past week and would love to score a capenter sprint run as well

I just got a call from one of my favorite online stores. It looks like I have one on the way ;)

I think you are really going to like that steel. :D

Let me know what you think once you get it.

I'm planning on doing some unscientific testing (of course, the lab is being remodelled :D) on the edge. I've got tons of cardboard and some 60" wide burlap rolls.

You are going to need a lot of cardboard that's for sure. :D

It looks like I will probably not get any of my pre-orders for this one just like the S90V. I found out one store I really had faith in got a computer virus and all pre orders lost so I got skipped there and they sold out. I contacted 3 stores about a pre order for both the S90V and Carpenter steel version and didn't get the S90V from any. I contacted them within 24 hours of Sal mentioning the knife and one basically forgot about me and when I asked admitted the mistake and then put me at the BACK of the list. Another decided not to do pre orders and the last hooked friends and long time customers up before me, a first time buyer but the first to contact them and admitted it to me in an email. I pre ordered with these same 3 but don't have any faith after last time. Once I realized my previous pre orders weren't with places with a good chance of getting the Carpenter version, I contacted everyone I knew of only to be told pre orders were full by that time. My luck with Sprint runs of this model is just terrible.

I don't understand why Spyderco simply won't make a bigger "sprint" run for a knife like this with such great blade steel that is obviously in very high demand. If they would do this, more people would have a chance to get one at a reasonable price.

I feel ya, brother. I have had similar luck with Spydie sprint runs. The only one I was able to nab for a decent price was the Manix 2 in CTS-XHP. Once I had the knife in hand, I realized it wasn't for me. :(

Your only alternative is to just wait till they hit the secondary market and start saving some extra cash for the price increase. I know it stinks but it is what it is.

I don't know if you're a fan of the Caly series but the Chaparral release has me excited. Sal mentioned on the Spyderco forums that the second iteration of the Chaparral is slated to sport CTS-XHP. I hope it works out that way since the Chaparral will not be a sprint run but limited production series - like the Sage series.

I just got my Fluted Ti Millie... but I also ordered the Carpenter ParaII at the same time (last X'Mas)... I hope it comes soon!!!!
