Carpenter Park Hike II (Very Photo Heavy)

Argh!! All you guys and your Emberlit pics are driving me insane! I'm seriously gonna have to remedy my lack of wood burning stove come spring (IF I can wait that long...)

Great pics as usual TW. I've been getting a serious case of cabin fever lately; these TR's sure aren't helping lol. Can't wait till the weather warms up here. Great sunset shots. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks man. You need an Emberlit, haha. Everyone does.
There's that damn stove again...

Looks like a good day out..

Glad you figured out the issue with the photos.
And you need one too. They are cool man. Not as easy as a gas stove, but fun though. That was driving me nuts trying to figure what went wrong. I even deleted the album from Photobucket, created another with a different name, re-loaded, etc. Damn, one photo, go figure.

Looks like a great day. and a beautiful sunset to cap it all off.

I can't wait until all my kids are old enough to take out for a full day in the woods like that (without needing a nap). Thanks again for sharing Warrior.

IMO you need to go into Emberlit sales... everybody now has to get one haha. I've been looking at them too....

Thanks man. I hear ya, it relaxes the soul to get out in the woods. They're cool little stoves.

love your threads. always looks like a good relaxing time out in the woods. great pics/gear, as usual. thanks for sharing

I think I just got outstoved.

I'm talking about the whole get-up.

Gotcha. I got the wife a windscreen, and she wanted to try it out. She loves that espresso maker. I've posted it several times, this your first time seeing it?

A bling shot:

Great pics. Of all the things I'm jealous of in the photos I think it's the 50 degree weather the most. This winter sucks

Thanks man. That was just a freak day weather wise. It's 10° right now. What a difference a day makes, haha.

Nice pictures! The sunset was absolutely amazing last night. The weather was a nice change, but too bad it didn't last too long.

Thanks man. Sunset was incredible. My photos so it no justice whatsoever.

awesome sunset man and a great hike too it seems thx for the pics just awesome stuff as always!

Great photos again Dubya. Thanks for sharing! I see a lot of interesting trees, I wish I was better at identifying them. I've been reading through some of my tree field guides to practice more--but that's neither here nor there.

The emberlit! I can't get enough of those outdoor cooking shots with different stove setups

The wife's necker is very nice looking as well. Although, your glamor shots of the 14 are getting me dangerously close to snagging one of those, too. My izula 2 still gets tons of dirt time, so I can't really justify another necker at the moment

Looks like yall had a blast, I always enjoy your picture threads. Someday I'd love to tag along!

Thanks man. I don't know my trees too well either. There are some spectacular looking ones in this park. Some are freakin' huge.

I hear ya about the Emberlit. So dang fun to use man. I set it up next to a low laying log, so I could sit on it while cooking.

Don't you have a 14? Was thinking you did.

We have a blast going on hikes and taking photos. Sometimes I wanna just go without all the photo taking, but I just can't help myself. Stuff always takes longer when ya take a bunch of photos.

It's been fun for me to i.d. some of the trees just outside the house, and I find myself randomly stopping when I'm walking around town and just looking at interesting trees and making mental notes about structure, leaves, etc. Probably pretty dorky looking, but hey, I can't help it :D

Nope, no 14 for me. My brother had one, lent it to me for a week or so (I was deciding if I wanted to buy it from him) and I honest to goodness lost it. Still can't for the life of my figure where it went. I still think it must have slipped out of my pocket getting into or out of my car somewhere random. Never prior, or since, have I ever lost a knife. I'm still befuddled! My iz2 is going strong though, great little necker.

I know what you mean about those pictures. I find myself wanting to stop and snap a shot of EVERYTHING just because I find practically everything in the woods is worth taking a photo of

It gets annoying and I often force myself to leave the camera behind so I don't waste my whole afternoon practically making a flip-book of my hike haha!

I should take the time to learn the different trees too really.

The Iz II's are sweet. I like the longer handle idea.

I don't post near as many photos as I take, of course. Funny thing is for me, even photos that didn't turn out that great, I save, because it still marks a moment in time. I used to take my video camera with me everywhere, before I finally broke down and bought a camera. I initially bought the video camera to record my son's paintball events he used to go to.
