Carry a fixed blade without a belt?

I'd be able to fit an 8-9" fixed blade in the front pocket of my jeans pretty easily. I know at least a few people regularly carry their ESEE-3s that way.

Aside from that, I don't think anybody's mentioned the Mercharness yet.

Ignore the cheese grater:D

Cold Steel has a couple knives coming out later this year that might fit your needs just right. The Peace Maker II and III. They're Mora copies (Mora 2000 blade shape) that come with plastic sheaths with steel belt clips on them. I think the II has a 5.5" blade and is supposed to weight around 5oz or so, and the III is 4" and somewhat lighter. They're nothing fancy, just 4116 steel and plastic handles at about $25 a pop, but they'll be fine for edc tasks.

P.S. I gotta start edc'ing a cheese grater! Absolute genius! :D:thumbup:

I really like carry in basketball shorts with the old plastic boot clip that came with ontario RAT-3s. If you can find one of those I would grab it. They will fit on any sheath that will fit a tech lok, which is basically all of them

I always wear shorts with an elastic waist, its just more comfortable in the Fla heat.
I use ESEE 5/6 clips on any medium to small kydex sheath. You just have to move the holes
around and grind a bit to get them to fit.

Here are a few:

Wish more knives had a sheath like the cold steel kobun, I don't like that knife but I like the sheath, I also like the sog Pentagon sheath.. too bad the Pentagon is illegal where I live. Wish the seal pup came in a sheath like that.

I carry a custom Bud Nealy Aikuchi slid into a kydex that is attached with a static cord to my belt loop, when I grab the handle I just pull and the sheath stays behind, I'll post a pic of I find one.

That's exactly how I carry my little Boker Tom Krein Pocket Bowie Ted, works pretty well I find

I carry my Spyderco Street Beat IWB, and sometimes I'll carry it without a belt. Works fine. The G clip snags on the seam of my cargo shorts and prevents it from coming loose.

I was gonna say either IWB or a baldric rig for a bigger knife (over 4" blade) but an ESEE 3 and Mora clipper sized knives ride in the front pocket of a pair of jeans perfectly.

How to Carry a Fixed Blade in Sweat Pants:

1. Tie cord to knife sheath
2. Tie cord to pants
3. Slip knife between elastic waistband and you
4. The cord and the elastic will hold knife in place
5. When you draw the knife, the cord will max out and stop the sheath, the knife will pop out
6. Cut things

This really only works with light, thin knives, but is a great way to keep a fixed blade handy while working out or lounging around or whatever you do without a belt on.

I am about to clip this to my waistband right now! It is a Mike Irie with 3.25 inch blade. IMO a great size. I also have a small edc Tobin Smith (2in blade) that I will pocket carry. These are the only fixed blades I use on the weekends with any sort of regularity because I wear a belt all week and work and am tired of it by the weekend!image.jpg

Nice knife and sheath, where can i get one of those sheaths?I wear a belt all day at work and i dont want too when im home but while im at home is where a fixed blade would come in more handy, or while im out relaxing fishing and stuff.. many O' time have i brang a folder with me fishing and when i was done i spent 20 minutes taking it apart cleaning and oiling it when i got home, fixed blade would be easier but i didnt bring one because i didnt have one because i didnt buy one because i dont know how to carry it.. lol epic story right? I really like the sog seal pup.

Does anyone know if you take that thing thats screwed to the back of the kydex with the belt loop off of it could you attach like a Clip? like the blacktech klip or something?
