Carry a khukri everyday

Bryon,

Like Kozak I can't see any problems with bringing a khukuri into Canada. Getting it registered with US customs is a good idea. When you return they won't charge you duty. As well when you enter Canada, Customs here will more likely to believe that you are not leaving the knife.

My only suggestions is when you pack it make sure it is not readily available.

I agree with Unlce Bill. VHD thank you for the explanation of the urge, no desire, no the need to burn things and smoke.

It is really hard here in boston many of the localiteis have passed smoking bans. This is yet another right that is in danger.

I joined the NSA (National Smokers Alliance) a lobby group who tries to help in smokers rights issues. I'd advise any smoker to do the same, and even non-smokers who place high value on individual freedom.

It isn't cigarette smoke that makes the air in most cities unhealthy!

Should've come sooner.

Bill, watch out with the push knife with legalities. Stun guns are almost like toys, saw plenty during high school. A guy got suspended for going to each classroom and "cracking" (zapping the air). The sound and smell after awhile are noticeable.

I don't carry a kukri, if I did it would be a 12" Sirupati or AK though the Kumar Karda or Chesapeake Special would do, it's lack of handguard bothers me, I would leave the karda and chakma at home or in a bag.

I admit I would carry a larger kukri in my bag but the size would not be much larger (15"-20" max) as I'm in an urban environment and buses don't always offer much space. Then again I do the weird thing of carrying openly and usually more than one knife.

The quote comes from a book by Tom Robbins (a truly excellent author) called Still Life With Woodpecker. I suggest you read one of his books they are really, really good. I read about two to three books a week and his are some of the best. Where can I hook up with the NSA?

Three of the four elements are shared by all creatures, but fire was a gift to humans alone. Smoking cigarettes is as intimate as we can become with fire without immeadiate excruciation. Every smoker is an embodiment of Prometheus, stealing fire from the gods and bringing it back home. We smoke to capture the power of the sun, to pacify Hell, to identify with the primordial spark, to feed on the marrow of the volcano. It's not the smoke we're after but the fire. When we smoke, we are performing a version of the fire dance, a ritual as ancient as lighting. The lung of a smoker is a naked virgin thrown as a sacrifice into the godfire.

Yeah, I am smoking yet again. It's kinda hard fer an Indin to give up his/her tobacco.
I will probably smoke until the nicotine gets so stong in my system tht it makes me really sick again and it costs me a few thousand dollars like it did last time. Just think how many khukuris I could buy with all the money spent on medical bills. LMAO.
I lay the allergy to nicotine onto the Irish and German sides of me.

I also like a wee nip of the elixer of the Gods now and again. That makes me glad for the Irish and German sides. VBEG
