Carry multiple knives or a knife with multiple blades? Why?

If I carry my large case stockman, my small schrade stockman and my griptilian I'm essentially carrying 7 knives.
Then if I include a trapper that makes 9....
Then if I throw in a nice gent's folder.....

I need help

I carry two knives. A SAK Alox Cadet is always in my left pocket. My main knife can be either a traditional pocket knife, or a modern folder. Depends on what I'm doing that day, or mostly just on my mood.

I've carried multiple knives for decades.

1 - If you only have 1 knife on you and you loose or misplace it and you need a knife NOW, you are up S,,, creek.

2 - One knife is not necessarily appropriate for all tasks. You can get away with using a small blade on a large job and vice versa, but it's a lot nicer to have the appropriate sized blade for the job.

3. - If you only have one knife on your right/left side and your right/left hand is engaged and you NEED the knife in your left/right hand, you are screwed.

I carry a pair of folders and a pair of fixed blades everyday. The fixed blades may change slightly based on the tasks of the day, but they only deviate between only 3 pairs except for very specific knives/usage.

My carrying dual fixed blades goes back to 1965...

No you sound perfectly normal to me.
O.B,

I always carry 2 knives and usually a Gerber multitool or leatherman. The multitool is simply for pliers and drivers, also a set of small wirecutters. I carry one knife to do food prep such as an Apple or somethimg. The other knife is for opening packages cutting small limbs from trees or whatever I might need a knife for.
I also like having 2 knives in case I lose one a backup is always with me.

For true EDC I normally carry only one knife. If I'm in the woods I'll carry a fixed blade on my belt, small folder in my pocket, and a multi-tool in my pack. Fishing or canoeing freshwater I usually neck carry a small fixed blade with a SAK in my pocket. When I'm fishing saltwater I carry a dedicated bait knife(Mora), either a Spyderco Salt or SAK in my pocket, and a multi-tool in my bag.

Logical. Just curious, what multi-tool?

I always carry multiple tools. Have since I was a kid. There are many reasons why as outlined. Bottom line is because I can. I like to exercise my legal rights to the fullest extent.

I keep a Leatherman Super Tool 300 in my hunting pack. At other times it will vary depending on my mood with a Vic Swiss Tool seeing lots of time. For pocket carry the LM Sideclip is still my favorite.

In your kitchen, are all the knives the exact same sizes?

No although not exactly comparable to a traditional knife. Kitchen knives are pretty much exclusively for food prep vs traditionals for multiple tasks where no two tasks may be alike.

I have to admit that Leatherman makes a fine product. I even own a Leatherman Wave myself. TBut, there are two things about the Wave that I don't care for. First, when I use the pliers, my hand gets pinched. Second, I have a hard time accessing the scissors. I also don't like the weight. Even with the complaints, it might be the one I would grab as a last chance tool.

I also own four other MTs. A SOG Paratool that rest in the tank bag of my motorcycle and three modified Gerbers. I have a Gerber MP 400 on me right now.

I always have my SAK centurian on my right hip in a cloth case. A Buck 303 in left front pocket, and a crkt hunt n fisch on my left hip in the sheath it comes with. I used to carry an auto but the fixed blade is easier to use. I have a SAK money clip and it has a small blade too. The centurian is for food, and has usable tools if needed, the fixed for slicing and cutting , the 303 is just there because I like it. I wouldn't dream of using any of them for self defense, I'm too darn old for that stuff but I do carry a small pistol in my right front pocket for that unfortunate experience if it happens. Four knives and a gun, I'm good for everything.
