Carry two lights?

I keep a Surefire 6P LED next to my bed so I can blind intruders while hitting them with +p .45 rds.

And since my truck goes wherever I go, I keep a 4D LED Maglite inside.

On my person is always my iphone with flashlight app. It actually works very well in theaters and low light situations when you need to find something.

I carry two.
One for me. Olight M30 Triton, max 700 lumens
One for you. Fenix P1D-CE, max 130 lumens :thumbdn:

I have a small photon light on my Key ring then I normally have an Inova X1 in my Maxpedition M1 on my belt. If I'm expecting to spend any time out side in the dark I'll normally have a Pelican M3 LED (3-CR123A Lithium) or iTP C7T (1-AA Lithium) on me.

So normally I carry between 2 and 3 lights on me at any given time. I also carry a spare battery for the Inova X1. It's my main light, but if the battery dies I can use the photon till I can replace the battery in my X1. Also, I can pull the Photon off my key right as a loaner light if need be. Both are so small they are hardly noticed except when needed.

I carry a single AAA light in my pocket. There's also a Photon Freedom on the keychain. For the size and weight of the Photon, there's just no reason for not carrying it. I also have photons as zipper pulls on some of my jackets. I've rarely needed them, but when you do, you REALLY do.

I've been carrying these two lately.

I spend a lot of my time out at night so a light always comes in handy and I feel better with a backup.

I carry a Surefire L1 and a AAA keychain light like an ARC or an L0D pretty much all the time.
I also have a Surefire L4 and another AAA light in my bag at all times as well.

That does sound like quite alot but they do all get used regularly for their own jobs.

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones. As an electrical contractor, I get to use a knife and flashlight multiple times everyday! Hence, I carry two (sometimes three knives) and two flashlights on my person everyday for work.

I carry a Leatherman Charge TTi and a Benchmade Mini-Grip 556 and on somedays, an RAT Izula. I use the Charge's blade and the Izula for stripping the really big wire(like #1 - #500 MCM) and the mini-grip for all other tasks like opening boxes, cutting string, etc.

For flashlights, I carry a 4sevens' Quark 123x2 with warm tint and tactical tail switch for EDC in my left front pocket. It's nice for working in attic's and crawlspaces as it gives nice flood and throw. Plus the warm tint helps in identifying wire colors. I also carry a Streamlight Microstream in the side pocket of my Charge case. Fit's perfect in there. It's a nice light if I need to hold it in my mouth and use two hands for something.

I keep a headlamp in the truck for long use attic work and also a Surefire 6p Led for general utility work.

I like to run two photon 2's on my keys- 1 as a user, the other as the backup.

The lights fade so precipitously that I don't notice my user is almost dead until I compare it to the backup.

It gives me an extra 11 hours of light for only a few grams of weight, so it was all win and no loose for that one.

However, I would probably only carry 1 "real" flashlight as an EDC, if I bothered. For the most part, the little Photon II's are all I need, so the Fenix L2D stays in the backpack until I need it.

I carry 3 with me all the time. A Mag AA with a LED dropin and a clickie tailcap for all around use and abuse. A keychain light as a handy backup (Mag AAA) and a Surefire A2 for lighting up the world if I need it. I've also got a photon on a necklace, but the batteries died a while ago and I haven't been motivated to swap them out.

I carry two on me, Fenix PD20 and Photon. In my EDC bag I carry a P2D Q5 and Ritter Photon backup along with spare CR123s and spare button cells for the Photons.

I'm the same way with my knives. I EDC a Vic Midnite Minichamp and either a Delica4, Mini Grip, Dragonfly, Ladybug H1. I usually keep the Delica4 in my EDC bag though and pocket one of the others. Oh, I keep a Vic Huntsman in my EDC bag too.

Two lights is just too easy.

I've been carrying the LumaPower LM33 recently. It's about half the size of a MiniMag.

Keychain lights take up almost no room, and weigh barely more than a quarter. Again, too easy...and they can do cool things, too. Like let you stalk up to within touching distance of some wildlife, as I did last week!

This one is easy. You carry more than one light for the same reasons that you carry more than one knife.....because you own more than one of each!! We went camping and hiking week. I had a Walt Davis Bushcrafter on my belt, a SAK in my front pocket and a Mini Grip clipped in my back pocket. I also had a McGizmo LS20 in my left front pocket and a HDS EDC in my cargo pocket.

Surefire G2 with extra batteries in my bag, and a Photon light on my keychain. My Photon light has been getting a lot more time.

Should leave my big Maglite in my truck though.

Today's current offerings of durable, high-power, user-adjustable lights in compact packages makes it too easy not to carry more than one. To me, its much easier to pull out another light if one goes dead than to fumble around in the dark trying to change a battery.

I keep a Fenix E01 on my keychain and a Fenix L1D loose in the pocket. There's also a yellow Surefire G2 incan with spare batteries in the glove compartment of my truck.
