carrying 2 folders

:) when i was in my 20's i used to carry a sak a folder and a leatherman as well as my off duty glock my cell wallet etc... just alot to carry...

i like the idea of carrying a sak soldier or similar model and a para 2 or something... my leatherman rides the center console of my truck ...for my daily routine.. gas station picking up the kid from school going to the store/gym its not necessary

Sometimes I've got a new blade that I want to carry around to use and admire during the day, so it rides along with my regular EDC.
Sometimes I just feel like having two blades.
But I also do multiple carry in other ways. I have a folder that stays permanently in the driver-side door pocket in my car. I have one that stays in the bag I take to work out at the gym. I have one in my briefcase.
So wherever I am and whatever I'm doing, I usually have several blades close at hand.

+1. My thoughts exactly.

I always carry two knives and sometimes three. I have a little Victorinox Rambler on my keychain that's mostly there for the tools (the tiny blade is rarely used.) I find that small blades are more discreet and very useful for things like cutting off a thread or opening a blister pack, but there's just some things a bigger blade is better for, like cutting a sammich, peeling an orange, opening a box, etc. so I'll either have a bigger SAK or a larger locking folder with a small complimentary blade. I suppose I could make do without the smaller blade and just use the Rambler, but it's more convenient and comfortable to not have a mitt full of keys and other items dangling when using it.

I EDC two knives as well. One Sebbie, Military or something in that class and a SAK. The SAK is mostly needed for the screwdriver and the like.
Additionally, there is a multitool and another folder in the backpack. The problem with this is, that I don't need it when I have the backpack with me and I need it when it is at home.

For me the reason to carry two similar folders is only when I know that I need it for abusive tasks, for which I have a designated 710. Or when going barbecueing with friends, because there we always have a knife deficiency :) .

Oh, come on...everyone knows it to pretend that you're Wolverine.;)
"Snickety-snick."

I carry two knives, both usually mid to large size folders and sometimes a SAK too. Sometimes you need to loan out a knife and don't want to be left without one for yourself :) and I can and I like to so why not?? :D

I used to work with a guy who carried one knife for work purposes, this was at a garden center, and another specifically for cutting food. It kind of makes sense to me, although I do not do it myself.
That's me. I carry a sak or small fixed blade for dirty work and a clean Spydie Military for food. Works great especially when opening boxes at work(receiving). I don't have to worry about cleaning the tape glue off before going to break and eating.

Edit: Not really me just use my knives in a similar way. :D

Today i'm carrying a traditional slippy, my sebbie and a small fixed blade. I normally have at least two folders on me. I dont have a logical reason for that, unless you consider I just couldnt choose one a logical reason

My current load is a black izula with TKC grips in a KSF sheath (left pocket), ZT 350 with custom clip (right pocket), green ladybug (breast pocket) and on my belt a multitool (this week is a skeletool CX), in my bag live a ESEE 3 Mil with blue custom TKC grips, and soon to be delivered, an ESEE 5. Just a tad paranoid, some say.

I tend to carry a peanut or squirt along with my locking folder at the office. When working on the farm I tend to carry two large locking folders: a plain edge and a fully serrated.

I'm in the two folder camp. #1 is the spyderco ladybug that stays on my keychain. It is my most used knife, also the one that I lend out if anyone needs a knife. (It stays on my keys so I always get it back, and I'm not gonna die if someone ruins my ladybug...I have extra's at home.) Second is the Sage 2. Really it only gets used for food and anything that the ladybug can't handle...which is surprisingly little. OF course I do have an extra folder or three in my bag, but that's another story.

Grizz

I also carry two folders. A slicer and hard use combo work for me. I carry variations of this combo.

I always have my se Dragonfly in my lr pocket. I also carry a big pe folder. The Dfly se will cut just about anything.

I like to pair up a PE knife (varying) with a SE Tasman Salt. I don't carry two knives, but when I do, that's the combo.

My small folder (3"-4" blade) is carried on the placket of of my shirt. The large folder ( 5.5" or 7" CUDA MAXX) is carried in my right front pocket. The decision on which to carry is determined by the depth of the pocket. The large folder is used for melons, wedding cakes, tall grass, and hanging vines. The small folder does most of the rest.

I usually carry two. One is a small blade, often a slip joint, for most simple tasks. The other is a larger knife, such as ZT301, for two reasons: one is that it is a heavier blade for heavier tasks. The second is, like today when my left hand was occupied, I can reach it and open it with my right hand. I also carry a multi-tool. Hardly ever use the knife because the other two cover that; I wouldn't care if it didn't have a blade at all but just the rest of the tools.
