Carrying a fixed blade in public or at work

Kabar TDI might be good. You could wear it inside the waistband. Maybe something else you can scout carry horizontal on your belt.

As said before, a concealed handgun would of course be better. You could carry a micro .380, like an LCP in one of those holsters that looks like smart phone case.

Good luck.

I would recommend a collapsible survival knife where the blade collapses into the handle. When retracted, the handle can easily pass as a prescription pill container, albeit a big one.

A little bigger: Gryphon M-10

Join a boxing club or MMA gym. Carry a belt with a large steel buckle. Get a tactical pen.

Move to a new job market.

I too understand the complicated work drama. I carry a Glock 22 and pepper spray every day for work. About a month ago my area manager stopped by and realized the clip in my back pocket was a knife, which isn't uncommon a decent amount of us carry knives or multitools. He explained to me that by company policy we cannot have any weapons on us at work. I laughed and gestured to my gun and the explained to him it was not a knife it was a tool and that I would never even think of using it as a weapon. So that's the story of how everyone at my work started carrying seat-belt cutters, sandwich slicers, emergency rescue tools, and package openers. I get the stupid company policies but you have to take into account if you feel unsafe does that job pay you enough to risk your life? If yes then I suggest carrying a knife or deep carry concealing a handgun because even if they do search cars I seriously doubt they do pat downs. If no then good luck with the job hunt. I did door to door sales in Flint, MI for about six months before I decided it was not worth the pay (the pay was really good).

There is more. Think again.

That said, enjoy your experience at BladeForums. I'm out.

Don't worry about the snark op, marcinek has a tendency to make people salty. You either laugh it off or get offended.
Learn from what says and move on.

To your topic I say get some pepper spray for the dogs. I know I'd be mighty angry if my dog was stabbed (even in self defense) and there's always people more unreasonable out there.
Now if you want a fixed blade anyways (of course you do) I'd suggest something about the size of an Esee3 or smaller. The izula is a highly praised small fixed blade.

Not trying to derail the thread or pry too much into the personal aspects of your life but curiosity requires I ask;
So your boss was okay with your concealed handgun but not your pocket knife based on a no weapons policy?!
Oh and I hear you about Flint. Not for any amount of money.

Sadly...I think you have nailed it. To many things in too many threads by this guy aren't adding up.

I'm going on record and will live with the consequences.
Yep.... he seems to be a debt collector and a mechanic. Which one pays him $10.50 per hr I haven't figured out yet.

I agree, this guy is full of shit in a myriad of ways.

If he is sincere, OP needs to get a new job.

Not prying at all I work as a supervisor for an armed security site. We open carry of course on our duty belts.

Just a heads-up but you might want to edit out your profanity before a mod gives you an infraction.

That's just crazy! You carry a weapon FOR work but can't have a knife because its a weapon. Some serious intelligence was involved in writing that policy.

I've played the roll of landlord multiple times in my life, and required to collect past due's and bad debt. And all I can say is that I would never go into someone's elses domain that owes me money without being well armed. People behind on payments can be emotional, erratic, and violent for any unknown reason.

But I don't carry knives for protection, they are tools to do a specific job of cutting/opening etc. The firearm and pepper spray play the roll of defense. Get a ccw, keep it concealed, keep your mouth shut about it. Carry a knife for other purposes, keep it concealed, and keep your mouth shut about it. My $0.02 (May only be worth $0.0001 because of inflation.

Worst part is we are actually licensed by the state. But everyone keeps carrying there stuff anyways policy be damned.

If you knock and they show a dog...you show your knife...they show a gun...and you lose big-time.
Get a new job.

Knuckle-duster belt-buckle...
Detaches easily from the belt, but are just "assesories to your clothing when attached....
