carrying a fixed blade

I sometimes feel funny about carrying a fixed blade on trails and such where I might run into other people.....was wondering if anyone else feels the same... I know it's stupid, I usually don't let it stop me..but was wondering if anyone feels this way what solutions they've come up with....Thanks, as always.

Just saw your post.Check out mine in this same sub-forum (terrible monster). I had a fisher run up very close to me yesterday, while deer hunting. I will never again go into the woods, without a fixed blade knife.

Man, if in addition to the neck knife, the fixed blade in you belt, and the folder in your pocket you also just sharpen your right forearm enough to use it as a knife you ARE tough!

I notice anytime a thread of this nature (sheeple and knives) comes up so do questions about "need" and statements about why we carry (uses). I understand it is good to be polite to folks sometimes but asking me "why?" about just about anything I'm carrying, doing (not qs indicating genuine interest) will elicit the same response, "Because!" It sounds kind of childish but to me so is the question engendering the response. If I want to strap a claymore to my back and dress up like William Wallace while I mow the lawn who the hell is anyone to ask why?
