So, yesterday I get home with Lily, and she runs down to the playset to hang out with the other kids. (Lily is my 3 year old (my youngest)). A bit later I went to check on em, and they'd gone down into the woods. They answered my call that Lily wouldn't come back, so I trudged down there to handle my little tyrant. But when I got there she was sitting on a girls lap and I could tell this wasn't a tantrum. She'd fallen and hurt her leg. She's not my dramatic one, but she wasn't having any touching or moving of the leg, and I could tell she was hurting.
The woods there are steep, and she'd crossed the creek and gone up the opposite incline 30 or so feet. Turns out she'd gotten up there and been scared, and when the older girl tried to carry her out, she fell, and the leg got hurt in the fall. So now I started looking at the terrain wondering if I could make it out without falling myself. Its scrambly kinda territory there, and I'd tweaked my back on Sunday, so I was a bit stiff.
Just picking her up was tough on her. She was really hurting. I could tell that this leg was likely broken. It was one of the most nervewracking 100 or so yards I've ever traveled. Luckily I had brand new running shoes on, and they held the terrain well. I was thanking the lucky stars when we got to the top, and into my back yard. Atlanta is blessed with an excellent childrens hospital, and they confirmed the broken Tibia and casted the leg. She's suffering like hell today.
Just an update.
